Possible PCV fix from PTP

if you guys want to replicate this fix before trying to buy it try this

start the car and let it sit until it starts smoking....
while its still running disconnect the breather hose from the valve cover and plug the intake side of it with your finger so unmetered air isn't getting into your intake. then with your other hand cover a majority of the valve cover breather outlet so only a bit of air can get in, the smoking should decrease or stop all together.

i think its great goups like PTP are still trying solve the little problems that plague this platform. props to PTP.

I don't have any smoke right now, but I do get a burnt oil smell from time to time after cruising. This same thing happened before when I had the turbo replaced. I'll report back if the fix helps this.

what will have to be done every so often? the ptp fix is there for the staying you don't do it every so often.

what i said to see if it alleviates smoking was just to kind of prove what the fix will do. as soon as you remove your finger and let the hook the hose back up your car should go right back to smoking.

Sounds like some people have recieved these, and the install is less than 5 minutes. Remove IC cover, disconnect PCV breather hose, put 'fix' in place, reconnect hose, enjoy.

I'll have pics when mine comes in, which should be today.

Mine just came in the mail, I'll be installing it once I pick up the car from the alignment shop.

So should I get this as well?, im not smoking or anything even with the DP and cat-back. I need more info and reviews...

Mine did not ship until Friday. However, I can tell you that regardless of whether you're smoking or not, this fix will only help. Your turbo may not be smoking (yet), but that still does not make the design of the stock PCV system adequate. The engineering and design of this product in relation to the stocker is definitely an improvement.

I put mine in today, and I wasn't overly thrilled with the fitment. It was extremely tight at first, so with a little persuasion and some filing/cleaning, I was able to fit it in. I think a few thousandths of material on the inner side of the part would improve fitment greatly.

I haven't driven anywhere with it yet though, and once I do, I'll be sure to post impressions.

waiting for driving impressions and or other people to describe this fitment issue to buy this part

you aren't going to get any from me cause my engine bay ate it. $25 down the drain. i did however request a sample from this place for a silicon end cap that i'm going to drill a hole the same size in and then i'll use that to put over the breather then put my hose over top that for the same principle. but not only did i lose it, when i was installing it it was way to loose.
