What's different an O2 bung and an O2 bung with cap?

Hi All,

I'll be posting in the welcome section at some point. But I've been trying to figure out whether or not I need to order an O2 bung and cap with my future CP-E catted DP.

I've been reading and searching but couldn't quite find the answer that I'm looking for. Whenever you're on CP-E site for the DP, you can select a high flow cat (I'll be opting for this). But what is this cap for the O2 bung that they speak of? And should I order it welded or not?

I'm planning on going Cobb Stage2 with the Cobb SRI and stock cat-back. Looking at possibly going for the Magnaflow cat-back in the future.

The only parts that I haven't ordered are the DP (since I need clarification) and the Magnaflow (want to make sure that the sound isn't too loud or "droney").

Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks

o2 bung is usually welded in for a wideband o2 sensor. With cap means that it comes with a little plug that you can use to plug the hole if you end up not using a wideband.

I'm confused, if there is a sensor on the stock downpipe right now, doesn't it need to be put on the new downpipe when installed?

Yes, but the new downpipe would have an additional O2 sensor bung so that if you wanted to use a wideband you would be able to.. otherwise, use the plug.

The MS6 has a wideband built in on the DP already though. You shouldn't need any additional bungs on the DP unless you plan to run an additional sensor.

well if he wanted to use a gauge rather then something like the dashhawk or ap to rear the stock wideband then that bung could be used for the wideband gauge itself. but yeah everyone is right when they say the car has 2 o2 sensors, one being wideband which is the first o2 sensor and the other being narrow band which is the second one. you need to have both of these installed for the car to operate properly.

So which option would be best of the 4 when ordering the CP-E DP?
I probably won't bother with using anything other than stock for wideband sensing.
