I got tuned by Automaster AMR in Mamaroneck, tune sucked. Got retuned at Akuma, much happier

MSP. No mods yet. Slowly buying parts. Haven't decided on a ems yet, but just want a tuner handy before i go in. HOw much did your tune cost you? and what was the turnaround time?

It depends on the car, level of mods, and what your doing. For example. My MS3 got a protune for the Cobb AP, ~500, could be on the dyno getting tweaked for an hour or a week, same price. The turnaround time is different for every car. When you start tuning, issues may come up, so its hard to say.

Akuma in north jersey...20 min ride, would actually be closer than AMR. and why the hell arent you hanging out with us at douglaston every thursday

You guys meet at douglaston on thursdays?? s***.. I live like 5-10 min away..

come by this thursday, we meet at douglaston plaza around 8, anywhere from 10-30 of us on a given day. mostly speed 3's, a few regular 3's and every now and then a few proteges and speed 6's.

we have a thread on m3f in the northeast region. look for the d3ny thread

one rule:

no driving/acting like a douche vw was thrown out months ago and we dont want the same to happen to us

hey goku what are you looking for, a tuning shop or a mechanic? harrison's post just made me realize you didnt say what you need a shop for.

Either one. I have a lead on a mechanic, but it never hurts to know more than one reliable mechanic.

As far as performance shops, I haven't heard of any good reputable ones, but there's also not alot of info online. All I could find was Cosmo and Initial D, which I've read bad reviews for.

I'm a jersey boy, haven't spent too much time on the New York page. This is the first I'm hearing of it. Either way, I don't think I'll be showing my car off, until I get some of these nagging issues fixed.

As far as tuning i would highly recommend akuma, ive herd good things about mspt but i dont know of them or anyone whose running their tune. Akuma is owned by john shafer from cobb/precision tuning. I dont know how competitive their mechanical prices are, but their tunes are great. they have a full time fabricator on site so im sure they can make/install anything you need.

I suggest Tarmac Motorsports. Very smart, hard working people there. If you google "Tarmac Motorsports", they should be the first link for you. Give them a call, they're out of Farmingdale.

Good Luck.
