Installed TWM A6 Leopard Shift Knob

I've seen the TWM M1 Abrams in person and I liked the shift knob a lot but would have liked a little collar attached to it. So the A6 leopard shift knob was on my sights! It's roughly double the OEM shift knob weight and it feels great. I got it in the gun blue finish which is a polished black (to match my 08.5 piano black interior). Here's the pictures!!

Notice the slight gap between the shift knob and the boot? I think i'm going to run up to the hardware store and pick up some washers to raise the shift boot a little higher. I'll report back, but let me know what you guys think!

Well i'm no physics major but you have more thrust or torque available with the stock shift knob weight at the stock shift knob height. When you lower the height but don't add the additional weight to match, that requires more effort to shift, especially with the shorter throw being a tad notchier and you have less room to throw your arm basically.

The last pictures were of the shift knob installed all the way as far down as it will go on the TWM short shifter. I ended up adjusting it today with 7 washers and now it's at a perfect height for awesome throws!

Looks nice. Definitely better after the extra washers. It's a good thing you don't live in the south or else those will burn your hands even more than the stock one does.

That being said, I think our stock knob is one of the nicer ones on the market - weight and looks.

Well, I guess I can only be glad I have a logical sense of mind lol. They don't teach you these skills at school either!!

I love the height of the shifter now, and shifts are smooth and comfortable. Before, you'd feel like you'd have to reach or try extra hard, but this all made a huge compliment to the shifter and I REALLY seriously recommend the extra investment to your TWM SS.
