I know I'm no artist, but I came up with a rough sketch as to the sort of Idea/theme I want to go for. I know it's a bad little 3 minute sketch, but it sort of conveys the idea I am after:

HAH you really could fit an actual size image of a K04 on a T-shirt.
That's not a bad design.

How about the idea of having a ghost image of the K04 in the middle of the shirt with the Mazdaspeed3 in front of it?

There are too many possibilities.

They`d fit on a children`s small so I could introduce my nieces to Mazdaspeed.

I still want the "Wild Child" on a shirt. I guess it`s my age. It reminds me of the car caricatures that were huge back in the sixties and seventies.

OK, I spent some time gathering pics of MS3's from various angles & in various colors for Craig. Included several shots of K04 turbos. Also included mazdaspeed & Mazdaspeed3 logos as well as the classic Mazda logo that Karl Hungus posted. I also gave him Saskatchewan's idea in text & sketch format, described my "multiple choice" idea, and asked about incorporating the K04 into the design. And just asked him to have fun with it, since he's a creative guy. I told him no rush, since he's doing this as a side project at no charge, and I still need antoine's OK if we are to do a group buy thru these forums.

I also linked him to the Wild Child video.

I'll post up once Craig comes back with designs.

Oh, and I had this goofy idea to use the basic classic Mazda logo to make a "classic" MS3 logo. I am no digital artist, and I juts used MS Paint to do this in about 5 minutes as a rough mock-up, but is the idea worth fleshing out to completion?

It needs to be a bit more compact, the circles need to join cleanly, and the letters may look better if they don't intersect, but like I said, this was a 5-minute rough draft. Thoughts?

Edit: I tweaked it a bit more. I think I like the idea of one circle best, something more like this...

Again, comments/thoughts are appreciated. Unless your comment is just "you suck," in which case, I already knew that, so don't waste the keystrokes.

Craig sent me his first 5 rough drafts today. All different designs, and he says he has a few more in the works. He did send them full size & fairly high res, so I replied to check with him before posting them. They are lacking a certain level of detail at this point, but before dotting the i's and crossing the t's, he wants to get our input.

Check back in a day or two to see some previews of the rough drafts. He'll be wanting constructive criticism about fonts, design choices, etc. And eventually, assuming I get the go-ahead for a GB, I'll post a poll to see which final design we actually order.

Teaser--- one or two of these are actually pretty darned slick looking. I mean, they all look good, but one or two look goooooood.

OK, Craig said to go ahead & post these in the size he sent me. Keeping in mind that these are all rough drafts, and more detail will be added, feel free to comment on which is a favorite, and what you like or dislike about the designs- fonts, colors, design elements, etc.

Remember- we're going to need to choose one design, with one set of colors, etc., and order 25 in order to get them made. So we can't customise every shirt to the owner's car color, and unless there's a lot more interest than I anticipate, we probably can't do more than one design.

I like 3 and 4 the best, although I picture the writing smaller in relation to the car on 3 and the turbo-tire might be a bit much on 4. I think I would like to see 4 with a reduced turbo tire and the proper name under it.

Can't we have something clever like "Eating Chevys and shitting Fords" or "I'd rather be Cummin than Strokin'" or "Bowties are for little boys" or "If you can't Dodge it, Ram it" you know all the super smart little sayings the big truck guys have?

Just kidding - actually here's my ratings.

#1 = it's OK
#2 = Cheesy gay slogan but otherwise I like the design
#3 = I like most
#4 = pretty cool
#5 = also pretty cool

I like 4 the most, but 3 & 5 arent bad. On 4 I'd like it better if it said mazdaspeed instead of turbo.
