PA, NJ, NY, and MD MS3 owners wanting a tune???

For those of you, like me, who live in and around the states of PA, NJ, NY, and MD who are finding it extremely difficult to find someone to perform a pro tune on their MS3, your in luck. I have recently been in communication with INNOVATIVE TUNING located in Buffalo NY and they informed me that they are fully capable of tuning our cars using AccessTuner Race software. their prices are reasonable and if I can get enough people wanting a tune and willing to drive up they informed me that they will gladly supply food and drinks for free and make an entire day of dyno and tuning. The flat rate initial road tune would be $250 or a combination street/dyno tune would be $400. If I can get enough willing to go then I will try and work out possibly a discounted price. Just to clarify...there is no set date for this event. its up to everyone who is interested to agree on a date this summer and let me know so that I can make the arrangements. All the aspects of the event are totally up in the air right now, whether everyone would want to drive up together or just meet their. If anyone is interested just reply on this thread and we can begin to talk about specifics. below is the link to the Innovative tuning's website.

that sounds rly goood, but thats like 7 hours away from me.. but this might work great i have family right there!

yeah its about mapquest miles and itll take about mapquest hours, depending on traffic that is

its a good ways. prolly 5.5 hrs from harrisburg/ york area. and about 300 miles. it would be a heck of a cruise if we got enough people. Id be intressted pending date and time

mapquest, i find, inflates their destination time. but STANG is right, this would be a great ride especially with enough people. And the date doesnt have to be decided right away. we find out who is really down for going and then decide a date that works for everyone. middle of the summer, late summer, whatever everyone wants im down for.

This is the email they sent me...

Devin,

I'm familiar with the car and have tuned the Speed Miata and Speed 6 before on other systems, but have not tuned a Speed 3 as of yet. I imagine it's very similar to the Speed 6. We're a Cobb Pro Tuner for Subaru and Mitsubishi, but haven't bought the license for Mazda at this time. However, they just released their free AccessTuner Race software for your car so we can tune it with that.

The flat rate initial road tune would be 250 or a combination street/dyno tune would be 400.

On other MAF cars Fujita intakes have caused poor/inconsistent MAF readings, so just be aware of that. It would affect drivability and consistency of airflow readings. Also, the Greddy BOV leaks around 17 psi and above. Otherwise your mods sound good to me.

Tunes are performed by appointment so whenever you'd like to get one done just let us know and we'll find a time that works for you. I look forward to working with you!

to my knowledge as long as you have an AP its free off the cobb website. I wouldnt mess with it though unless you have tuning experience. if you do then more power to ya.(cool)

im actually thinking i might wanna do it, the drive and all, how much hp do u think we can gain from a custom tune??

yeah...i have no experience with it. It's not like you can just type in x amount of boost and x afr and magic u have it, right? u have to change values and stuff like that right? maybe i wouldnt mess with it. But I'd pay to get a custom tune.
Would that place in NY dyno your car before and after to show how much you gain?

Yea there are alot more variables involved in a custom tune. Specific AFR stuff and fuel curves i believe. And yes you get a before an after dyno. the first one shows the tuner what needs to be tuned on your car and then you get one after for results of the tune. Im no tuner by any means but im pretty sure thats how it goes down.
