I got told it was back ordered 2 to 3 weeks, but lt was sitting on the porch when I got home today. Didnt take to long to install. Their instructions are pretty good, but you have to refer to the first page quite a bit to see which hardware to use where.

I only took a quick drive around the block, mainly listening for anything out of the ordinary. Will post impressions from the drive into work in the morning. Not really as loud as I thought it was going to be, and I can hear the whoosh when I shift gears, but no ping from the forge. Not sure if thats normal ?

Looks good, always have liked K&N. If this would have been out when I first got my speed3 I would have gotten this instead of the ms cai

It is pretty quiet actually. All you hear is a tinny whoosh. When you get on it you can hear it sucking the air in, but then the engine noise drowns it out. With the radio on it was barely noticeable. I will take some video of it this weekend, and post it up.

This isn`t the first time I`ve heard of this. Changing something else in the intake tract reduced/eliminated the Forge ping. I`ve even seen one post where the guy complained because he installed his Forge and it didn`t ping.

I can't imagine that heat shield does a whole lot. Look at the gap at the battery box for example. All the air rushing through the nose of the car at speed, then down through the TMIC is going to blast right through that gap I'll bet.

You might be surprised. I bet the shield isn`t there to block airflow but primarily to channel it from under the front of the hood to the intake plus provide a certain amount of insulation from radiated heat off the engine.

Nevermind the ping. I just watched 5 or 6 videos on you tube with a forge bpv, and mazda cai, cobb sri, cpe, and they all sound exactly like mine does.

Thanks, Yeah It was wrapped in a fed-ex bag since it has been raining, and I had just said look at what fed-ex brought me to my wife, so I went with it.

and you think thats a bad thing? thats the whole reason i got rid of my forge valve. hated that stupid ping noise. also, they left it on your porch? did you request them to do that? i cant tell you how many times ive complained about fed ex leaving s*** on my door step without a sig. i dont exactly live in mr. rogers neighborhood.

Still waiting to hear is there any air straighteners in the MAF housing of this thing or not?
