Does the downpipe match up with the stock CBE fine or does it require to have the race pipe with it. I ask this because if I ever need to swap exhaust for emissions I want an easy swap. Right now I was looking at the Cp-e TBE, but then I would have to choose whether or not I want a high flow cat. What I was gonna do is the Cp-e with a high flow cat, but am I going to lose any power w/ the high flow cat or is there not gonna be any difference? Decisions decisions...
No, the downpipe does not match up with or connect to the CBE. The downpipe alone would require you to connect it to the second cat, which is before the CBE. That cat is restrictive.
Yes, you need the DP/RP combo. If you ever need to pass emissions, you can have a high flow cat welded into the middle of the RP, with a bung for the rear 02 sensor. That might cost you a hundred bucks or a bit more.
The high flow cat is way better than the stock ones, but still, any cat, even the high flow ones, will produce some restriction and will not be as free flowing as going catless, if you can do so.
The TurboXS DP connects easily to the TurboXS DP, which connects easily to the stock CBE.
If I were concerned about passing emissions, I'd buy a second TurboXS RP, if I could get one at the same time as buying the DP/RP combo. I'd have a good performane exhaust shop cut that second RP and weld a high flow, 02 sensor bunged cat in it, and put the completed catted RP on the shelf. Then come inspection time, the change out could be done in five minutes. The TurboXS RP is very easy to remove and reconnect.
I'm not in an emission testing state, but I did basically the same thing with a straight flow through reso where you might put the high flow cat. My goal was to reduce sound volume and drone without reducing flow. I see no reason you couldn't put a high flow cat there.
