I was corrected by my tuner Christian, we did actually hold the throttle
plate open to redline on our latest calibrations as the community
demanded it.

and what was the end result? Cobb only messes around with a couple things with these maps so these are extremely mild tunes. with that said and the little tweaking they do, i can see why holding the TP open wouldnt give any gain unless they do an actaul tune...so it makes sense they wouldnt see any benefits of the TP being open to redline when their maps still allow the Speed's turbo to fall flat between 5800-6k


even though there is no support behind it. look at the dyno charts on mazda speed forums . com of the Piasini tune.

look at the gains above 5800 rpms. b/c of the fact that tune has 100% control over the TP but they also tweaked the A/F, timing, upped the boost as well as other stuff, look at what the results are.

but this is an actual TUNE vs Cobbs extremely mild map "tune"

haha ya ok dude you were wrong and the street tuner will be out around the 20th..... why would cobb make aggresive tunes? so ppl can pop there motors and blame cobb? sure b/c thats the smart thing to do. just drop the topic b/c you were wrong and i made the mistake of second guessing myself.

How do you know he's not lying to you? You know people do lie in the business world right? It's called Marketing... you can't make money if people don't buy your products.

I don't care who gets owned, I just want the proper facts before I drop money on anything....

Where's the initial PROOF that it's opened 100%? I never argued it wasn't open to redline... The way he said it, it can still count that it was held open 85% to redline (instead of closing to 10% or whatever the stock ECU closes it to).

I want to see proof that it was opened 100% to redline. It was never a question of it being held open to redline, it was a question of HOW MUCH it's open.

If it opens 100%, why doesn't the dash hawk read 100%? it reads 15% open at idle and 85% open at WOT ( assuming this is correct, and these are actual percentage figures). Then why hasn't anyone commented about their daskhawk reading 100%?

And you already gave me some good proof.... but I still want to know #s... I never had any question of if it would hold it open to redline... I want to know if the AP will indeed hold it open 100% when tuned (and not using just a base tune from COBB)....

a good tune shouldnt pop a motor. thats the whole point.

cobb simply doesnt have the time to invest inthe MS3. they are more interested in the Nissan GT-R, even the scubby has taken a backseat to the GT-R.

so im not clear on what you aretalking about when you say "cobb isnt making aggressive tunes so people dont blowmotors"

so anyways, on to something productive...hows your HD lip holding up? how long ago did you install it?
 
that s*** looks bad as hell on the yalls MS6's, much better than on our MS3's. but im going to do the sides as well to see how it looks.

i think it should balance the look big time. just doing the front end of the MS6 looks awesome but doing only the front of the MS3 makes the car look like something is missing
