S. Florida Pro-Tunning Inquirey...

In a serious response to this.... Isn't COBB considering making the accessPORT for these cars user tune-able? That would be the only reason I would buy a accessPORT which is why I have more interest towards the Standback.... sorry man.
 
I see.... and this "street tuner" will work with the current accessPORT, or will Cobb be releasing a new accessPORT?
 
work with the current one. but keep in mind the reason for popping most engines is bc there isnt enough knowledge about car tuning by the person. it goes way beyond timing and AFR's

Which is just another reason I would rather have the CP-E and call them up for a tune.... It's nice he wants to be local and jump on the band wagon... but does he know about tuning these cars?
 
what do you mean "these cars"? please tell me what makes "these cars" so different than other cars? he has more knowledge about cars, engines and how they work than me, you and most of the ppl on this forum. thank you and i have spoken my peace. and how on earth do you think an e-mail tune would be better than a real life one? ok they know about these cars but it is stupid to think that it is safer to tune through e-mail than in person. and i dont care who you are.

These cars meaning THESE cars, lol What makes these cars different than other cars? Do you think S2000s, STIs, EVOs, or 350Zs have throttle plate issues like we do? These cars are very quirky, possibly the ONLY thing I can think of that I HATE about my car, the fact it's so touchy and quirky.....

I have no doubt he has more knowledge about cars and engines than I do, but you yourself admitted it's more than just AFRs and a few simple things, and that's why people are popping their motors.... fact of the matter is I know people who work on/tune STIs and EVOs immaculately, and they look at my car weird.

So I asked, does he know THESE cars.... is he familiar with the speed vehicles and how they work? If yes, then perfect it's about time we had someone local who has knowledge about our cars, otherwise.... I'll step aside and let everyone else be guinea pigs. And then when things get cooking, I'll jump on the bandwagon without issue (thumb)
 
yep, if he can tackle the problem with tuning our Speeds and safely...im on board
 
most ppl with electronic throttle bodies have this problem and this is the only difference you stated? listen just stop posted negativity... you are always saying you are waiting for this and are going to do that but still drive a stage 1 car which is fine just keep the opinions to yourself. im just trying to help everyone out with a service and you are acting like you know that these vehicles are impossible to tune and are buily with parts from fallen meteors. fact is that the only REAL difference is the direct injection which is an advantage over most cars the only down side to that is making 400 whp b/c no one knows the limits of our injectors. but 350 whp, as we have seen, if with out a doubt fesable.

I do huh? When's the last time you looked under my hood? 8 months ago? Couldn't hear the intake, or the BPV? I'm sure you'll hear the 3" custom straight pipe I get put in after my car is done with the body shop next Saturday ;)..... Assumptions (butt) never ASSUME anything, cause you make an ASS out of U and ME.

I'm not posting negativity.... most cars with electronic throttle controls do not have the throttle plate problems WE have, where it closes down to like 10% after 5k RPM. I'm simply saying.... if he knows these cars like I said... GREAT, then I'll be on board. Otherwise I'll let others step up to the plate first... not all of us have a spare car to drive if something goes wrong with our Speed. It seems I'm not the only one that wants to make sure all is good. I'm just posting because like any "investment", one should want to reap the full rewards of it, people don't dump money into the stock market if they're not going to get anything back. (drinks)

Until then the CP-E FULLCONTROL Flash seems to be the only thing that I've found that takes care of the throttle issue. So once you get him to start tuning you... and you shoot me some 1/4 mile and dyno numbers, then I will be convinced and gladly spend my money on him.
 
ok no. 1 the access port alone handles the throttle plate issue so CP-E isnt the only one and no. 2 your car is and will always be slower than mine! (lol)

The accessPORT allows the throttle plate to stay open 100%? I don't recall reading that.

and I never stated my car was faster.... was just letting you know it's no longer "stock" (bird) and who knows, maybe, just maybe, when my warranty is up in 15k miles.... I'll be faster? LOL...... I doubt it, unless I get another car as a daily, I won't be going nuts on this one.

But like I said.... if he tunes the cars great, then I'm on board.... cause I really like the fact the accessPORT shows MPG consumption as well as trouble codes via OBD-II, so I would buy one of those over the Standback.
