1972 Datsun 510 (56k best of luck)

Another day in paradise. Hopefully coming home in 85 days. Have a little money trying to decide whether to get the rear coil overs, cv axle kit, or the datsport r31 rear brake kit.

The Datsport stuff is super nice. I personally reccomend the steering box brace. by steering flex was horrible, and after I got one I thought I put in a steering rack.

Those brakes are pretty flippin killer tooo.
I wouldnt get the CV axles, unless you plan on getting more than 400Hp outta that KA. The stockers are supposed to be really strong. What I would do is get a WRX R180 rear end and throw that in there. (dont know what your rear end is already....)

That's why I was going to switch to CVs, I want to get the subbie rear end. The WRX has the r160, the STI is the 180.

I don't ever plan to push that much power, but I do plan to track her a lot and I would feel a little safer with better axles.

I forgot about the steering box brace. I'll have to pick that up since I have the cash.

Right now I have the stock r160.

Well back in the states now. Going to get back to work on her. Just ordered these for her.

Probably going to get my hands on some 280zx rear control arms and get the rear end up on the wheels and rolling correctly. Then get the front suspension on her. As soon as I can get an engine hoist I'll test fit the motor/tranny.

Glad you are back safe. Have any fun? You know what the saddest part is? I have been home the whole time and haven't done a thing to my car except oil changes. I guess I did get my front struts prepped...

Thanks man. Loads of fun lol.

Coil Overs should be here in 5-10 days. Bought them from Top motoring. Trying to decide what to buy now. May hit up the junk yard this weekend and see if I can fund some 280zx control arms. May get clutch and flywheel so I can test fit my ka.

How are you gonna make 280ZX control arms fit? Are you talking the fronts or the rears? I am pretty sure the rears are totally different.
OH and how much were the coilovers?

Coilovers were about $580 shipped. $560 for the CO and $20.

From the reading I have done, 280zx control arms fit the problem is they add to much toe in, You can modify the mounts a bit, but stock mounting locations work.

Crazy I have never heard that. What is the advantage to installing them then?

I didn't know either until a week ago. Main thing is the disc brakes already being installed. Can't really thing of to many others. lol.

Disadvantages though are more toe in, no spring cup so you HAVE to run coil overs, and strut mount is on the top of the strut so it is 4" inches higher, but from what I hear you can flip the a-arms left/right and lower the mount.

Got my TC rods and Top hats in this weekend, and got my struts all together. Just waiting for my adjustable LCA kit, some new tie rods and ball joints and will start putting the front back together.

Finally got some parts for the dime.

Rear coilovers 5 way adjustable

I believe thats true. I need some as well as some tie rod ends.
I am still trying to figure out how my struts are gonna fit onto my 240sx camber plates...
