I got a pair of JDM lights from taiwan. The brand is Depo.
It comes with harness and everything. However, I can't get it plugged in even though the shape is exactly the same as the stock one.
This is what i meant:

when i measured the plugs, the dimensions are the same or at least VERY similar. but it feels like the new plug is too big to fit in comparing to stock for some reasons.

From what I can see those plugs are completely different, there is an extra row of pinholes on the new plug for a start, no way are they gonna go together, you may have to splice the plug from your old tailight on the new tailight,

Pat.

i dont think there is an extra row of pin holes, it just looks that way in the pic, but i think it does look a tad larger overall

Easy Fix

If you like it, then mark which wires are supposed to be connected, cut off the connectors and splice them together using solder and heat wrap. Easy fix dude, be sure to put up pics of what the tail lights look like.

it just appears that way in the pic....sorry crappy cell phone pic

i would take splicing as my last option since im not very good with take
I thought about filing the plug to reduce the size slightly to give it more clearance...would that work???

Rather than cutting and splicing, why not just pull the pins from both and use the plastic connector from the OEM taillight with the new taillight? All you'd need is a pin removal tool, or in many cases a thin paperclip.

Hey Vic, sorry I have no clue why the plug looks different. I got my Depo's and didn't have a problem with the plug harness. My plug wasn't grey either, it was white IIRC
