Thinking hard about replacing my MS3 with...

look i can't disagree with any of your points, i just simply think you should keep your judging to yourself. if you don't do it, good for you. there are probably things you do that i don't that i think are really stupid. that's why i'm me, and you are you.

key points

1. Street racing is illegal, dangerous, and irresponsible.

2. A 370z is flashy and will more than likely draw unwanted attention from people who want to act irresponsibly.

3. regardless what you may think, because you have no evidence, i'm not a moron. i simply make bad decisions sometimes when it comes to public safety.

4. a lack of a sense of humor and recognizing sarcasm can cause people to become very confused and begin to try and put down other people by insulting their intelligence and or bragging about some credentials that no one really cares about.

all in all. you guys are right about street racing being dangerous and irresponsible. i never said it was safe and responsible though. i simply said i have done it and might do it again.

i don't know you from Adam, and I mean this in the nicest possible way [since I was guilty of this when in my twenties]...but...

let me be the first to call :bs: on that one. so you like to street-race, but you NEVER have a brewksi after the race? eh?

no sir. i don't drink because it just doesn't do anything for me. i suffer from ptsd and if i become intoxicated i am unreasonable and not a very likable person. plus it's expensive and i like driving so i'd rather be the DD. and soda tastes better.

"I'm not a moron, I just knowingly do dumb things I know I shouldn't."

Gotcha.
there's the judging again

so wait a minute, anyone who does anything illegal and knows it, is a moron? then i think you and i are in the same bag sir.

"I just knowingly do dumb things I know I shouldn't."
actually i think that is the definition of a moron.

If you just did dumb things and didn't know then that would just be ignorance which I actually think is better.

so wait a minute, anyone who does anything illegal and knows it, is a moron? then i think you and i are in the same bag sir.
he didn't say illegal. he said dumb. and i would argue that anyone who knows something is dumb and then does it anyways probably isn't that bright

there's a difference between following every law to the T and engaging in an activity in an unsafe environment that is dangerous even when done in a fully sanctioned and safe environment. going 5-10mph over the speed limit or cornering a little hard (assuming you stay in your lane and it isn't a blind corner) isn't likely to cause significant damage to others. in a street race you're likely going more than double the speed limit in an area with no barricades around and a lot of people.

then trying to justify your actions because you get speeding tickets is just dumb.

i agree. i'm definitely guilty of doubling the speed limit. i don't do the racing with a lot of people standing around watching thing though. and as far as justifying my actions with tickets......that was just a lame atempt at some humor so that people wouldn't get all worked up and have a bad moment or day while trying to express a point

ok well how about we just don;t talk about street racing in this thread anymore, let it all go, and get back on topic. All future street racing threads will be deleted from this point

so how bout that camaro eh? any word on whether they resolved the issues with the company who has the tools to create their dashboards so they can actually start production this month like they planned to?

I have no idea jred. I sure am anxious to start seeing them on the road though. Right now the challenger is the winner in retro styling by a long s***!

i honestly wouldn't chose the camaro, although if modified might render the most HP out of the bunch..... i think the 135i is classy and would be a decent performing vehicle. a lot really depends on what plans the OP has for his new car. did i miss where he posted what he wants to do to it?

he said he wants to leave it stock and drive it. that's pretty much it.

i like the 135. it's pretty ugly though and needs to come down a few grand in price. i think i'd rather spend the few extra grand on a 335 instead because it looks that much nicer and you have the awd or hardtop convertible options. to me the 135 is nice in theory but the execution wasn't quite right. not too far off but just not quite there

i dont think he has really ever said any "requirements" It's hard for me to say if I would or wouldn't choose a Camaro yet because I haven't really seen one yet.

.......My point is that I want to stay with a stock car. I could mod my MS3 and probably get over 300 whp. Others have done it. I have gone through the misery of warranty issues, expensive repairs, and limited service locations. No more for me.

I want a car that hauls ass (preferably with 400+HP) stock out of the box
.

ah yes found it.

agreed, you hit the nail on the head. maybe a chipped and exhaust 335i 400+hp with that setup...... back to the it being expensive part.

wikipedia still says camaro production is set to start march 16. i never heard a resolution to the dashboard thing though. last i knew GM was sueing the dashboard company that is now bankrupt for the tools and the dashboard company was also sueing GM for owed money to create the tools. sounds like a mess

heheheheh.....i disagree with this part of your statement. I, personally, and most of my friends(i've taught them well), hunt the streets just looking for an MS3 driver to race. I know that my slowtege in its current state would get thrashed by an MS3 with a decent driver. It's that one time that i catch an MS3 with a bad driver that wants to race, and i beat him.......hahahah it pays off. Most of my friends' cars would destroy Mildly modded MS3s(430hp STI, ~300hp un-natuarally fast SpecV, 415hp Altima, 350hp TC). So if i lose, the MS3 gets toasted anyway.

so all those cars have those hp at the wheels? 415whp altima?

Whatever you get, make sure it's a big honkin V8. If you can get by with the fuel economy, do it. I would in a heartbeat. I really like the new G8, but maybe you mentioned not liking it. This thread was way too long and I have a short attention sp LET'S RIDE BIKES!
