Just got me a 2008 MazdaSpeed 3 Sport in true red...was looking at used but with 08' leftovers available I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to pay a little more to get alot more. With experience in the biz I was able to work a phenominal deal out of them but I wanted to see what the general feelings were on this car? My days of tuning, wheels and bolt-ons are gone...I was aiming at a good factory performance ride. Is everybody pretty much having a good experience? Thanx...Bri.

The MS3 is one of the quickest, best performing FWD vehicles around today. A couple of minor bolt-ons will only increase the fun factor.(eekdance)

You don't need to Modify this car for it to be enjoyed. Infact, modifying carries with it great risk in many cases. Just leave it stock and enjoy. It's a aweome ride striaght off the lot and congrats on the purchase!

Congrats on the car! What did it cost you OTD? Most everyone has had little to no problems when stock. Its the medium to major modding that starts causing unexpected failures. There are 3 to 5 things you can do to enjoy and unleash some true potential:

-new rear motor mount
-short shifter and aluminum shifter bushings
-cai or short ram intake
-dashhawk monitoring (even just for boost and checking codes)
-better bypass valve (stockers tend to leak over time, Forge makes a great, oem-looking replacement)

Totally agree, just do the 3 most important mods.
New MotorMount, TRZ Dogbone seen from $75-$99
A Short Ram Intake, $155 - $215
A better Bypass Valve (Forge), $135 - 155

These 3 are by far the best things yo can do to the stock car and stay safe.

If you plan to mod be very careful and make sure the install is done right. Oh, and if you have any issues and need to take the car in to the dealer, remove all the mods are they'll void your warranty in a heart beat.

they have to prove the part caused an issue, but yes its easier to just remove and put back on later

Good luck with that!
you have to be a douche bag about all my post?

You= my CD player isnt working
Dealer= sorry you have a CBE
Dealer FAIL= lawsuit

You= i threw a rod through my block!
Dealer= Sorry you dumb ass you ran 20 pounds when we told u to run 15
Dealer WIN= you stuck with the bill

got it? (2thumbs)

I got a sport with Wheel Locks...Paid $19,900 plus T+T...I might have been able to squeeze a few more bucks out of them but they treated me well and the sales-woman did a great job...having been in the business I appreciated that a lot.

Yeah on stupid s*** like that sure, but I'm talking more about the power train. You just described an overly simplistic example and nothing more. If they want to claim your CAI blew up your motor they will win for example. The list goes on and like I said before, good luck with that! (2thumbs)

lol @ voided warranty due to mods argument in a thread where the OP states he will not be modding.

Congrats and enjoy!

$19,9...that doesn't seem like a deal. Brand new 08.5's were going for $22k on S-plan.

brand new 08 for 19,900 seems like a good deal to me. Whats nice is that he has an 08 that hasnt been driven for a year which means about 13,000(average) miles less than most other 08s.
