Winter Rants of snow & cold

still sucks! someone scraped my rear bumper just before the holidays in the guitar ctr parking lot (boom07)

Yeah it was on base. Someone mentioned to look into something.. Supposedly the base will pay for this since the driver who did it can't be found. I don't believe it myself, but who knows.

w00t my snow troubles (car-related) will soon be over.

i'm moving back to Beverly in a week or so, can't WAIT. I need a truck though to move s***...I guess I'm getting another uhaul.

I lost control of the speed tonight. On a Downhill. Some jerkoff was pushing me from behind so I took a left hand turn a little too fast. Car got loose I have no idea how.... the hand of God I think... but I missed a parked car right in my trajectory and slid into the open space in front of it. I remember seeing the car out of my peripheral and suddenly felt the car lurch as it slowed its lateral slide just enough. I wanted to put my breaker bar through the guy's windshield behind me but I was too shook up and the $%(*#$*@ just drove right by me.

I am so lucky. I don't know what I did to deserve that luck but I'm so thankful.

Boh, Chris, sorry to hear about the front-end damage!

Tim, that's ****** up! Glad you and the car are OK though. s*** happens.

I got kicked out of my company's parking lot after drifting around in the snow for 20 minutes.. the security guy came over and was like "Get out".

Ya Tim thats messed up. I bought my snow tires from someone used and they are 215s, I think that is a little too wide so when they wear out I will get 205s probably. But anyway I mention that because I notice that they don't bite as hard as my last 205s and sometimes I do understeer when I don't want them too. I was following my wife home one day last week and as we are about to turn onto our road she goes from 15mph to 0 in only a few feet to let someone out of the road and I nearly slid into her because the tires seemed to float on the slushy s***.

She did the "Okay I'm gonna turn into the road....oh nevermind you can go" type of deal so I thought she was gonna go and then she just stopped so it took me by surprise.

But ya I hate when people try to push you along in the crappy weather. I try to not let them speed me up and travel along at whatever rate I was going, or I slow down a few mph to let the asshole know I see them and they can wait.

Ya. I'm noticing more and more that they aren't biting as hard. When they were new I had hardly any issues. 205's would be better I think. That's a funny but I'm sure not funny at the time story. I was actually worried he got so close that he'd hit me as I slowed even more to enter the turn.

I noticed a similar thing when I went from 215's to 225 snows on my RX-8... not as much snow bite.

Yeah I wanted to stay with 205 but my steel wheels didnt fit that they were on and had the opportunity to buy some alloy wheels that were on craigslist that came off of a speed3 so I knew they would fit.

After buying those and selling mine I came out 25 bucks ahead then when I started so I can't complain.

But when they wear out I will return to 205s

I'm doing fine on my 225s, but my car weighs more than both of yours...and the AWD might help a little too. This is my 3rd season on them.
