What have you done to your MSP today?

Its a speed limiter at 135...at least on my msp it was I don't have the balls to try it on my g/f's p5. Engine just backed of at 135ish or so. No cars on the road except the caravan of proteges behind me

I know my old p5 would pretty much die out around 108-110 range after that It just took way to long to do anything. And the MSP is around 138-ish running 215/45/17 tires.

Next time I'm up north I'll speed test with my GPS... no chance I'm going to pull it around here. Gotta get back on 17's too.... 195/55/R15's aren't cuttin that.

I thought that msps top out at 155?? I hit 130 a couple years ago :) it was nice

Well Without the speed Governor our MSP's are gear limited to 170+ mph. that's how fast i've taken mine in the dyno and racing my friends Gallardo on a private road before blowing the damn head gasket.

I also think that it depends on the car, because i've seen MSP's on stock ECU going over 140 mph without cutting off, and i have also seen others cutting at 135 mph.

Yeah I got the Illuminas but not the springs. I am cheap. I want some aftermarket springs. However, I wasn't going to go with Tokico though. I honestly had no clue what I was going to go with.

Tien s-tech's are a pretty safe bet for lowering and handling. Eibach pro kit are good but not much lower than rb. If you want the adjutability and look into it the ground control springs and coil sleeves are a good step right below a full coilover setup

I've had some issues in the recent past and money's gotten tight but once things settle back out and level off, I plan on putting more mods on the MSP. Springs would be first (and no, adjutability [lol] doesn't matter to me), then a CAI, followed by a hard pipe kit and/or FMIC. However, that's a little ways away.

dont get the sleeves unless you want a very bumpy ride, i know full coilovers are expensive but either save up and get full coilovers or just get new springs.

sleve kits are a bad comprimise to make IMO. you're trying to stuff too much into a small space in an attempt to get adjustibility you will likely not use. the spring ends up being way too stiff and short to be comfortable or efficient its full length lowering springs, or full coil over kit. I had a sleeve kit on my Isuzu Impulse back in the day, and it was custom designed by an online community member for the car.... still wasn't the greatest. Car was low as all hell though...

The sleeves are fine as long as you don't try to dump the car on the ground and not leave enough shock shaft for the correct amount of suspension compression. The reason people find sleeves to be bouncy is because they order the wrong spring rates which with the ground controls you can change...also numb nuts like to try to use stock shocks with sleeves where as he has illuminas so it can handle higher rates.

i have illuminas on my car now i bought it like that with sleeves the ride sucks. little bump feels like i hit a giant pot hole.

Somebody has to be running the illuminas and tokico spring combo....

I'm interested in their thoughts...I'd like to finally lower the MSP at some point.

on idiot friend in particular I can think of... put in Ground Controls, on stock shocks, AND took out the bump stops.... very shortly after, he had quarter size holes in his hood. Cavalier looked pretty bad ass on 17's and 5" of drop for the 15 mins in the driveway before he drove it though... LOFL

I gotta be honest, I have RB's and the ride sucks. Of course I have my Illumias set on a pretty stiff setup... just because. No real reason.

That being said, what is a good set up for stock ride on the illuminas?
