Projekt UFO manifold nearing completion

LOL yeah but what gives you the right to talk s*** about someone elses hard work, im sorry if you live in a world where its ok to put people down. What works for him might not work for some other people and thats fine but you dont have to dog the s*** out of his product if you dont like it then just simply dont buy it. Now its another thing if you purchased this manifold and had a problem out of it. so please take your crap to another thread and stop cluttering this one.

I agree with not bashing his idea, he's attmpting to help help out our community by giving us another more affordable product, and this is the first run. My comment was attempting to help him revise it, a much better approach then bashing him since if the later units improve I will be buying one.

All I have to say is thanks to the people who have shown interest and support. The haters, cynics, critics won't get me down.

i wont bash it untill i see it finished... but then i have to agree the welds look pretty shotty. Keep us updated!

Well, just in case. I must remind everyone that this is a PROTOTYPE piece we are talking about. The whole intended purpose of this thread is to gather a base interest in the product, reveal design criteria, placement, reasoning. It's not like we have mass produced this and this is what will be available to the rest of you. And this will most likely not be the manifold that stays on my car for years. Just cutting a path into the product availability to you all.

I remain supremely confident that the final product that will be available to you all once I get approved merchant here on this site WON'T dissapoint.

i like it! like u say its only a prototype so its not gonna have the best of everything its just to get a base of how its gonna work and look keep up the good work

Will this mani work with the stock turbo or would i need a new with an external wastegate... getting excited about the proto ufo... Good luck!

We can integrate the design to accomodate a T2 flange for those who wish to keep the stock setup and internally gated design of the MSP's.

Fab on the manifold has seen quite a few bumps in the road to completion. The last of the fab work will be finished tonight. Manifold should be in within the next couple of days.

I have confirmed with Bob that the fab work will be done tonight. I will have quite the series of pics up tonight, and the work on swapping out POSOBX manifold will commence tomorrow.

Well, after almost a month, or possibly more, it is finally done and home waiting to go in tomorrow. I will be taking the day off work to get it in. Here is the finished product.

All the welds have been hand welded and the manifold has been pressure tested to 100psi to ensure there are no leaks. This may not be the most "pretty" design, but the welds are strong and shouldn't give me any problems.

Also talked to him about the tall/long tube on the third primary, and he said it wouldn't be a problem to shorten it up.

Positive or negative, give me your comments. I would also like to point out that for the $200 I paid to have this done, it is much better quality than the OBX.

yea the welds arent pretty but they dont have to be to be strong
looks nice, im assuming the short tubes help the turbo spool faster and the longer tubes help it spool longer?

I don't know yet, that was just kind of the design that allowed the most amount of room to get the manifold bolts accessible. As far as the welds go, heat wrap can be your friend. :D
