im gonna get the upgraded smic from protege garage, and i was wondering if anyone knows what it would take to mount the turbo xs H-Type 50/50 Hybrid bov on the weaponr hard pipes from protege garage.

take the pipe to a shop and have them weld on the flange

Y not just go with a FMIC??

i was gonna go with a front mount but i did some research and the front mount would be more benificial with more boost but they do look awsome im at stock boost

Do you plan on staying at stock boost, or getting a boost controller and ems to up your boost as wanted?? I only ask because I just saw the link from Metallic's signature and they are offering a great deal on a FMIC Kit. Hell, I am thinking about getting it my damned self. Here is the link, check it out. http://www.alteredcustoms.net/

it also seems like fmic's take alot of work to install u can fill me in on that.

they can be a pain in the ass if you don't know what u r doing. If you r not sure about how to, take it to a performance shop, and they will do it. Otherwise, it's just a matter of getting the core to mount up to the bumper support - depending on the type of kit, routing the pipes, and making sure that everything fits properly. I would also - imo - do a MAF relocation to help with the stalling issues that you will, more likely than not, run into when you mess around with a CAI and upgraded Intercooler; FMIC or SMIC. There are several threads on this, and several different opinions.

ok im impressed with that price and i can relocate the maf easily and i think they have the flange for the turbo xs H-Type 50/50 Hybrid bov for around 400 bones wow i like!

whoa whoa whoa we need to relocate the maf if we get a smic upgrade??

you don't need to. . . but it helps when you start to get hesitation issues, which you will more likely than not get. I am not saying that you will definitely get it, it's just something that has happened to a lot of people. It's something that I need to do, and I still have the stock SMIC.

always check out things from this place first. There are alot of members out there that either work, or own, fab shops and always try to hook us up. If you have doubts and want to go with one of the approved sites like Protege Garage, just PM Ken and see what he can do for you. Even on stock replacement things.

If your running stock boost with a stock turbo, you'll be happier with a SMIC. If you plan on up'ing the boost just go ahead and front mount that b****.
as far as MAF relocation...you only need to relocate if your venting to air. If you recirc, from the BOV/BPV then your fine. The issue comes in when you vent air in the system that the MAF already calculated as present, then it gets to the engine and some is missing causing a stall.

Here is what you have to do, get rid of the weapon r hardpipes, buy turbohoses hardpipes and have them weld the flange on the cold pipe before sending it out

i had the the weapon r hard pipes, they are nice, but the couplers and clamps are s***. if you buy em get t-bolt clamps right away.

and for the record i'm running the turbolife fmic currently with just intake and exhaust at stock boost and the car is running great
