Blizzak WS-60 owners - What do you think so far???

I gotta find out what you guys are finding with these Blizzak WS-60's. I was an owner of WS-50's prior and they were amazing in the snow and ice. This is my first time trying "Performance" winters with my Dunlop Wintersport M3's and I can't say i'm happy. I'd like to make a case to my local shop that sold the tires to me that I'd like to exchange them, but i'm extremely skeptical of how the WS-60's will work?

Post up your WS-60 tire size, and experience thus far please!!

I live in New Hampshire, drive 20 miles to work. We just got 2 feet of snow on Sunday, had to drive to work on Monday. I made it- I was impressed with that, after hearing that the Speed would be horrible in the winter. I have the Blizzaks.

Not sure where all the bad press...

About speeds being bad in the winter. I think it's generated by people who expect to drive around on the stock Summer Bridgestones. With snows the MS3 and all Mazdas I've owned are unstoppable in teh snow. Unless you bottom out enough to lift the drive wheels off the ground. :-)

My M3's are great on dry pavement (for a winter tire), good/vg on snow, but suck on ice.

Agreed! I think part of my problem could be that I set my PSI too high to the point where the shoulder blocks of tread are not touching well enough on the ground and those criss-cross treads in the center can't react fast enough to soft snow so it just hydroplanes and slides:

Where as, the WS-60's are more dedicated for snow and you can see how the tread splits everything out of the way as fast and efficiently as possible:

It's really making me consider exchanging my Wintersports. I don't need outstanding dry winter tires, only to barely have traction in the snow. I could have saved myself some cash and gotten some decent all-seasons if I wanted that kind of performance.

Keep up the posts on the WS-60's!

LM-25's FTW here. I was in 8-12" of snow in Southbend, IN and north earlier this season zero issues. Here in Cbus we've had 3 ice stores. Zero issues. Especially good on stopping. The only "issue" is me modulating first gear enough upon take-offs to avoid slipping, but otherwise, they are great. Excellent in rain too. Took my brother in law out yesterday to show him how she handles and even in rain she was a performer. Needless to say, the perform great in dry.

Not as-good on ice as the WS-50's but the WS compound wears extremely fast and is only good for like the first 50% of the tread life anyway.
