hey guys, anyways i bought my ms3 with 18k miles on it and it now has 25k its a black mica. Recently ive fallen in love of the look with no side moldings. do you think its to late to take them off or think it would be ok? i ask cause ive heard stories of it leaving behind residue and some marks. thanks for the input =)

Well you can still take it off, depending if the previous owner waxed the car often, if not then you should be fine after you pull it just get some paint cleaner and wipe off the area and you SHOULD be good to go, however if the car came from somewhere with strong sun....say Florida then I would definately advise against it, cuz of the possible paint fade.

You are totally fine, worst case scenario you might need o buff the car :D to bring the shine back if it faded over the time a little, but I doubt that.

TAKE EM OFF

Also for cleaning you can use "bug and tar remover" made by turtle wax, it smells nice, works like wax, and gets s*** off the car :D

I was thinking of taking mine off and painting them black and slapping them back on. May look good or may look like total s*** but whatev, maybe one day when I get bored.

they are eazy to remove most of the time you can rub the s*** off with your fingers haha and pcspeed3 please dont do that

Hey, if you want to experiment, I have my side moldings sitting around. They are True Red of course, not a big deal since you want to dick around with painting. You can have 'em for cheap.

Putting them back on will suck! They will never be right. Usually when you pull htem they tend to stretch. Maybe not...

You shouldnt have problems pulling yours. We pulled the moldings off an 05 Mazda 6 just a couple months ago and everything was fine, just used some cleaner wax and polish to bring the color back and even out the car. Looks hot!

i used a hair dryer to heat the glue up a lil bit and they came right off, used some cleaner wax, never knew they were there

I would advise pulling them off then washing the car, maybe using a clay bar, then a cleaner wax as everybody says...I pulled mine off @1500 miles it really really cleans the look of the car up...

+1 on this tip. I removed mine is direct sunlight during the summer and they came right off. Might be a little harder with the more mild temps lately.

yeah im in utah its probably like 15 degrees outside haha not really probably like 40 =D blow dryer ftw i got some wax laying around im sure show im gonna go out and do it thanks guys!

omg just did it looks so clean now... gonna go wash my car and wax it up a bit thanks guys =D

NO!!!!! That will look horrible and when other car doors bump it you will have white spots because the black will come off.

Please don't do it. If not for yourself, think of the kids!(protest)
