nerf guns

My favorite was the gattling(sp?) gun i had....that thing was kick ass....

I still have nerf guns... (boom03) (LOL, college was fun)

This new wave they have out nowadays is pretty cool-looking. Clips, automatics, man, where was this stuff when I was younger. All I can hope for now is that my soon-to-be-nephew will be into this sort of thing to give me an excuse to play with them again!

I've had so many of these things I can't remember them all. I know I had the bow (the original version) and I had this little pistol (Sharpshooter?) that was amazing. Until it broke, it shot the hardest and farthest than any nerf gun I know. Must have been before all the safety measures came out...

...I just recently bought three Rev 8 guns for my brothers & I for Christmas day Nerf wars. I really like the bullpup design and the fact that you can store extra darts right on the gun.

^^^ I've actually found that one to be the worst of the newest wave. I have two Mavericks (revolver-looking ones) and a modded longshot (the rifle with clips, best w/o the extended barrel and scope). From my experience the Mavericks are the all-around best even though they jam from time-to-time. The little one-shot one (not sure what it's called) with the laswer sight is actually the most powerful (has the best grip too). There're a couple really new ones that I'd like to see but I can't justify buying them anymore. Back in college my roommates and I would have wars when classes got too stressful.

s***! I haven't opened up any of them yet to try. I got one of the CS-6 Recons and every single dart either jammed in the clip or came out and just hit the ground within six feet.

Good to know - that was one of the new ones I was considering. Back in school we all had pretty much one of each and the Mavericks were just the all around best. Good distance and power with decent repeatability. The Longshot is nice and can actually shoot pretty far with the barrel extension removed. It's just big! I'm really curious about the automatic on though. If it's anything like the old chain-belt-fed one they had a while back (the one you cranked by hand) then I'll be severely disappointed. That thing rarely shot and the darts only went about 5 feet when they did. The simpler the gun, the better!

I understand that the Vulcan isn't quite so hot. Sure it may be a cool thing to own, but I might wait til it's on sale. My understanding is that the belt thing thing really sucks and just about every other dart jams and needs to be adjusted.

I had the nerf bow and arrow and the purplish tube things that shot out nerf balls, and the crossbow

Sharpshooter this was a great gun and fairly accurate (up to about 15 feet)

I also had the bow and arrow.

I forgot all about those tube one! We had two in my familar (one for my sister and I). Weird things... For some reason ours always had it where one ball would always be "stuck" in there. No matter how hard you pump, that sucker wasn't coming out!
Not if you modify them... There are websites that will show you how to modify the air restrictors on the newer guns. Try NerfHaven
Yeah, there's some pretty hardcore people out there. That's definitely beyond anything I've ever done. I've only modded my Longshot - removed those air-blocking things and put in a slightly heavier spring. Still isn't a sniper rifle but at least now it better lives up to it's name (probably shoots, 50-75 ft).

Yes! This is the first gun I ever had and I loved it! It actually had some decent kick to it. I suppose this was before Nerf pussied out. (rant)

I had the same problem, i remember doing a bunch of half pumps before shooting to make it shoot farther

I had the original bow and arrow first, then the gatling gun. I had three younger brothers and one Christmas we each got a gatling gun, and there was a massacre of yellow arrows!
