Downpipe! Any Opinions???

So im pretty much sold on buying a downpipe. Just dont know what one. Any feedback or personal preference? How tough is the install? Help!!!? Right now im leaning towards the Corksport.

Install is difficult. You have to move the engine. You will also most likely lose your warranty if that matters to you.

yes you have to disconnect the rear and passenger side motor mounts and drop the engine down using a jack and while supporting it pull it forward to get the cat by the manifold.

You could always find a decent shop to install ur DP. Takes an experienced person about 4 hours. They will prob charge you around 200 bucks for install.

Mine cost $250, said they did it in about 3 hours. I didn't need to worry about stripping turbo bolts either!

i dont think you have to move the engine , i didnt move mine , yeah it was like a little puzzle to get it in there but nothing to the point where i had to move an engine . Took me about maybe MAYBE 2 hours if that .

^^ +1

Not sure where you got that info., I have not seen anyone do this.
Removing O2 sensors seems to be the most difficult thing for most 6 and 3 owners. Lots of WD 40/PB Blaster and let it soak in for a while.

i have never disconnected an engine mount on a speed3 to do any downpipe install honestly. takes a few hours and it is tight working space to work with but its doable for the decent everyday mechanic.

The shop that did my CPE Downpipe said that they had to move the engine as well. Perhaps they did not know what they were doing - took them 6 hours to do Downpipe and Exhaust.

holy hell 6 hours thats way to long , i could have had the DP and exhaust done and said in about 3 hours if that

Searched this a bit more and found a few people have had to, or chose to (dunno), move the engine.

(omg) wow , thats weird . I would think that it could cause more damage and its a bigger risk to move the engine and installing a DP to me is not worth taking that risk
