I have a cosmic blue speed3 and was thinking about making it two tone black and blue. Anyone do this or seen this on a Speed3. Anyone good with photoshop and want to help me find a good start stop line. I am thinking black hood, roof, pillars and hatch. I also keep thinking about running blue euro racing stripes up and over the passenger side. The last thing I was thinking about is cracking open the head and tail light and color matching insides with the car. let me know what you guys think about this or if anyone want to help out with photoshop.
Thanks
Jimmi

Honestly I think two tone is as far as I would ever go, but it might be pretty expensive. If ur going to paint part of the fenders and door panels you pretty much have to put clear coat all over the car. It involves a lot of labor.

My cousin paints and has a booth so I just buy supplies. I think the black and blue would work well and still look real clean...

Cool how much experience does he have?

Painting is fun I love it, ima painter too!

It's a on the side thing for him he started by doing gel-coat on boats about 10 years ago. He painted my Ford Focus body kit and all the interior. He and a buddy build street rods and sell them. Nothing too crazy...

i think a black roof/hood combo would look good. going down and keeping the grille black also. but stopping there.

best of luck with your project.

Im getting a black gloss viynl on my roof on Tuesday. cant wait (breakn)

what no vinyl? Thats what I have planeed fopr after rainy season is to put the gloss black vinyl on my roof. It should run like $50-60 tops. How much for your actual roof to be painted?

I think Gloss black roof on CWP or Sunlight silver would look really sweet. The guy i know is doing mine for $130 including install. Its a little pricey but he said the guys that sell vinyl on the net are most likely low quality. My guy uses 3M stuff that wont leave residue if taken off and will come off in one big piece. I will post up some pics early next week.

not an ms3 but i figured it'll give you a good idea of what it'll look like

Kills the body lines.....two tones are supposed to highlight them but that doesnt work with these cars

so you ARe using vinyl, not painting it right? Yeah I figured at least $100 installed as it would be a freakin huge ass piece of vinyl. PLEASE show pics! I have sunlight silver and think it would look great on mine if I did it.

i have to post this guy's silver up here, he actually has a sunroof on his speed3, and got his painted gloss black professionally, tho i dont want to do my wing, so I don't know if it would look right with just the roof by itself

Not to mention at the R&I's involved. To do it properly, the panels being painted and cleared need to be naked or the clear will peel on you. this means door handles, mouldings, mirrors will need to come off, both bumpers will need to come off, headlights and tailights will need to come out. rocker mouldings for the clear on the fenders.

I'm sure it'll look good though, good luck!

yea that paint doesn't work with the car at all I think it will work better if at the fender lines like on your car you have the hood black. I don't want to go past that on the hood and were you have the black in the rear I want to stay above that. Then come to the line on the doors like the blue car. I think this will make the fenders swell up. I just need to find some one that can whip it up in photoshop so I can see if it translates as I see it in my mind. I was thinking that may be not black but a real dark charcoal just a hair off black...
You know?

I think it would work best if you stayed with the natural lines. Two tones dont always have to be straight like that one. Also maybe a different shade of Cosmic blue. Have them mix up the cosmic blue paint and then continuely add a darker color until the shade is right. I think that would look sick.

exactly! clear needs to be under all the molding, and lil holes or sooner or later it will chip

My only concern with going vinyl is that here in cali my paint already gets backed by the sun. I am wondering if there will be a noticeable color difference on the roof after the vinyl is removed and the rest of the car.
