Finally got this in. I think its a solid mod that anyone can do, but it could be a little scary for people newer to modding, but dont be afraid!

Balance Shaft Delete [BSD] Kit by hate_romania - Mazda Forums
Im not sure what this guy was thinking but dropping the AC compressor is completely unnecessary as is the dipstick mounting bolt, the dipstick tube will pop out of the pan when you start pulling it. Do take the dipstick itself out and set it aside. Drop the bolts around the pan and the 14mm and 8mm ones on the side. One on the side is a stud but mine came loose without double stacking nuts. You will need a 8mm wrench. Once the bolts are out I found a good place to pry off the pan in the front right. From the pictures you can see, I washed out the oil pan, I was a little worried about stuff floating around in my pan.
Here is the kit
There arent too many miles on this oil change and its still pretty dirty, but you can see how much oil doesnt come out with the oil changes.
This is what you are actually removing.
So fresh and so clean.
The kits fitment is money.
Impressions: The car definitely free revs a bit faster, and throttle response seems to be a bit better. You can feel the difference on the butt dyno after boost drops off at higher RMPs the most. Vibes are nearly unnoticeable. If you can handle the MM this will not bother you. Two thumbs up!
It is a noticeable difference, but nothing mind melting. Its not the "holy s***" feeling that the intake added or anything. There is more to this upgrade than the removal of parasitic power loss, the addition of extra oil helps with heat and the ability to completely drain dirty oil keeps your engine cleaner. I would definitely do it again because it is such an easy mod to do, and has so many benefits. This is the dyno chart from the write up thread of a CBSD done to another car and it mirrors what the butt dyno is telling me.
I think it feels like a bit more than 3hp but not much more. It makes sense that you can feel it more in the top end because thats when it spins the fastest. Some people are even speculating that this could potentially be safer than having it on there because of harmonic resonance, but this is only speculation. I realize that its not much of a gain, but you throw a few more 3hp mods together and you have something significant. I think we got a little spoiled on how well this car responds to mods, but the price to hp ratio is fantastic. I figure with this and the lightweight flywheel kens got lined of for us the car would rev like a dirtbike. Also the baffle is nice to have because it stops oil pump cavitation in heavy cornering. Good mod. It gets the Demi stamp of approval.

Thats it...? It just seems like it revs a little faster...?
Come on Demi, we want more!!!
Is it noticeable during WOT; other than when boost starts dropping...?
Would you do this mod again, knowing the results...?
I still can't seem to justify this mod with what seems to be a small-negligible gain in performance. Especially not knowing if this mod will destroy or damage the engine long term.
