shocks and struts

what are the best replacements ?
please if you could give part numbers
or where to buy.

thanks.
joe

Please if you could be more specific about what you want to achieve, ie.. daily driver, track, adjustable or not, occassional track use...??

It's a lot easier for people to give you advice if you have some specifics.

sorry for the vagueness
i am looking for stock replacements for
a daily driver.
looking for koni yellows.
tire rack lists them as fitting the ms3.
but other sites say they will not.
that is why i wanted part numbers or specific links..

thanks

joe

Can you PM me the site? I am looking to buy a set too!!!

do the stock shocks really go out @ 15k? please tell me they do so it gives me an excuse to get aftermarket shocks and some lowering springs :P

CP-E disected one of our shocks that only had 15K DD miles on it. They said the internals where shot!! That is was the most pathetic quality shock they have ever seen...

I'm at 30K and my car just floats on the roads. It feels like I hit the bump stops all the time.

i found out that my right rear shock was blown when i went to get an alignment. that was before 15k miles.

Tirerack also lists the Koni FSD shocks as coming available soon for the MS3.

I have them on my 330ci and absolutely love 'em.

Probably go with FSDs when my shocks finish cooking out.

Cheers!

i'm trying to figure out a shock replacement for the near future as well. Koni FSD seems like a good choice. Does anyone know how these will compare to the stock suspension? Would it be alright to get just these but leave the stock springs in, or at least for now? I want to not drop/limit my drop until i can switch back from 235 tires to 215 cuz i dont want to be rubbing.

sooo now i'm thinking i might go with the Koni FSD and the Eibach Pro-kit, both have some sort of progressive function and are not adjustable so i won't have to deal with that. What do you guys think? it'll be about a grand to buy then i'll have to figure out if i'll do the install or have someone else do it professionally.

Maybe someone can help me out... if I get a set of FSD's, are they tuned/valved specifically for a MS3? Like, are they different from amascio's 330ci FSD's?

If all FSD's are created equal, they're pretty much useless for everyone, so I doubt that's the case. If they're developed specifically for each application, what springs should they be paired with - stock? I would think an adjustable aftermarket damper makes more sense since it can be "tuned" on a high level to be optimized to whatever aftermarket springs they're installed with. Am I on the right track here?

well in response to myself and for who cares:
I e-mailed Koni and they said that because the FSD dampers were designed for the mazda3 and speed3 that we are already lower with our stock suspension so it would not quite make sense to use the FSD's with aftermarket springs. Also they have no plans for making an eibach/koni kit like they do for other cars.
