MS3 Racing Beat Exhaust Review with video sound clip - UPDATE

The service I recieved from Racing Beat was great and first class. Excellent company that has been in the business for a very long time and it shows.

Specs:

- Full 304 Stainless Steal
- Dual tips
- 3" OD just like Mazdaspeed's aftermarket exhaust
- Full installation instructions

Packaging 10/10

The exhaust arrived fast and very well package. Every thing was wrapped and well protected.

Construction 8/10

All materials appear to be of high quality.

The exhaust is hand welded 304 stainless steal. The muffler pieces have TIG welded seems. I was a little disappointed with the appearance of the hand welds. If you have ever seen a Corksport exhaust, the whole thing is TIG welded and just looks beautiful.

The dual exhaust tips are simple double walled pieces welded to the rear exhaust section. I was a little dissapointed the tips have no Racing Beat markings or engravings.

All the hangers looked well placed and designed to fully support the exhaust.

Installation 7/10

- Install time: 1.5 hrs and two people
- Used typical garage tools and ramps

I'm giving this a seven out of ten because I'm not a big fan of the exhaust clamp used to attach the rear to the front exhaust section. The two sections come together almost directly over the rear suspension sub frame. So you have to get creative with the angle the clamp is installed so you have enough room to tighten it down.

This system does require you replace the rear rubber exhaust hanger support. The replacement part is included with the system. It's an easy install with just one bolt.

The rest of the install is straight forward and relatively easy.

Sound 10/10

This thing sounds AWSOME! It has a low burble and is only slightly louder than stock. The off gas and low RPM drone is almost nonexistent compared to the stock exhaust.

This exhaust is so much quieter than my friends Corksport CBE.

I'm definitely happy with the sound.

Performance:

The car feels a little faster but it would be hard to tell without hard dyno numbers.

Summary:

I would highly recommend this exhaust to anyone that wants a quieter option. It just sounds great. Installation is a little difficult at times, but nothing hard. The quality is above average and from a great company.

UPDATE Nov 28th:

I've now had the Racing Beat CBE for a couple of weeks and even broken in it still sounds great and hasn't gotten much louder. It just sounds great. It's not loud at all and just has a great drone free exhaust tone.

Updated with installed pics and video sound clip.

Another great review -- thanks for taking the time to put together a well thought out review; helps the rest of us who may be considering this purchase/upgrade.

Sounds like the exhaust is a winner for me.... but I will never buy this because of the tips (or just weld on a different one).

Well Copperkid is right, if you want quiet this is the one for you!! as for the looks of the double tips....well it actually will grow on you after awhile, figure it this way, if you look at the rear of any Porsche 911 turbo you will see each side has the same offset twin tips so for half the price of a porsche 911 exhaust you too can have the same poor mans exhaust...ahahahah!!

No seriously, it sounds good!! fit....well eh it was easier then my Corksport I can say that much.

Dual staggered tips actually look kind of nice, but I prefer single tips because of all the dual-tip ricers around here. (especially that Chevy Corsica with dual exhaust and quad 3" tips, looks so horrible!) Can you say "Powered by Briggs & Stratton"? Cheap ass auto zone ricer mufflers FTMFL!

Need more videos please :) but so far I think it sounds good. The dual tip is really growing on me.
