Hey do any of you guys know anything about HIDs?

Do I have to get my ballast from the same person I got the kit from(ebay)? Does the ballast determine the bulb color? Am I ******? lol.

Yeah but they're not tinted at the moment

Got my HIDS and installed them but my dumbass crossed the wires for the driver side ballast so only the passenger side turns on and the driver side flickers so I need to buy another one. ugh.

What do you mean you crossed the wires? Did you plug the end wire tabs into the headlight plug wrong? Did that burn out the ballast or something?

I am confused... when installing HID's all you have to do is mount the ballast somewhere, plug in the end tabs(neg. and pos.) into the headlight plug, put the HID bulb into place, and your done. I don't see how you could have crossed the wires. I don't think that is even possible.

The part where you plug into the ballast, I plugged it upside down(positive with negative/negative with positive) and I didn't notice how hard it was to plug it in and I turned it on and thats the one that just flickers when turned on.

And it still flickers after you corrected the crossed wires?

Like when I turn the fogs on, the bulb will turn on for like .8 sec and then its just dead.

That is the ONLY possible thing I could come up with for the driver side not turning on like the passenger side and before the install, I tested the specific one out with the fog light harness but not mounted an all that and it worked fine.

You should just return it and tell them to replace it. Just tell them it does not work.

I should of tested the ballast with the other bulb but I had already mounted it and everything and my ass was too lazy. haha.

What do you mean? Did you photoshop the tint on there or did you sand the tint off? BTW if you do tint your tails again I would use VHT Tint spray, and not black paint. It works and looks a lot better. You can get it on ebay if you can't find it at any local stores.

They are alot simpler than most people think. They are pretty much a plug and play kind of part.

Oh, and white MSP lip should be here tomorrow! But it's also my 3 year anniver.so I am not sure if i'll be installing it tomorrow

Congrats on the anniversary! My wife and I just had are three year anniversary last August

When I took that pic my tails were blacked out but I took the paint off so currently they're red again. I didn't use black paint this last time, I learned my lesson and used paint called tint from a hobby store.

Oh yeah, got my sides installed finally, it only took the place 3 and a half hours. ha

Mine is still black and blue. lol

Plus, the lip coming as some black showing through where the previous owner got some parking curbs.

but, i'ma let her get used to it being there cause she is gonna hit it once or twice before i get both painted in January
