So I'm torrenting all the seasons of Top Gear via Finalgear.com and one of the seasons finished downloading.

I went to click on one of the AVI files and all I get in Windows Media player is the sound, no video. Anyone know why?

Also, does anyone know what format the files need to be in to be able to burn them to a DVD?

I be new to all this....

next issue....when trying to create a DVD with Windows DVD maker it says these files are not supported or corrupted....I'm guessing this is a issue w/ the junk software...

so.......what program do you suggest using for creating DVDs?

Do they need to be converted from avi to any particular file type for playback in a dvd player?

I have that problem also. Its all the new codecs they are using to encode video files now.

anyone else with any insight?

search for "windows vista codec pack." there are a few packs out there that have a ton of codecs in them so will allow most videos to play in windows media player. i believe if it can play in windows media player it should be able to use the same codecs to burn it to a dvd. if not you'll want to look into video conversion software to change the format into a straight AVI instead of an encoded one

that fixed the playback issue in Windows media :) Thanks!
