Okay guys I need your help. I want to buy a CAI except i'm getting mixed reviews on all the different CAI out there. I hear some are total crap, then I hear some are better because they come with a airflow straightener and don't give off any CEL's but because of the AFS less HP is given off.

So help me out and tell me what the best CAI is out there (NO COBB SRI I want to buy next week not 6 months from now) that I can buy.

I ordered AEM CAI, but im still waiting cause they have back order also. i ordered them begining of august and herewe are now with no intake. but i have always used AEM they have continually given out a great product

personally i would go with hks sri. i made 255whp and 270 tq with just that one mod...oh and they are all in stock ;)

AEM....zero issues and we all know Cold Air is better and that's what it delivers. Especially during the initial gulp of air after sitting in traffic.

Questions.
If SRI = short ram intake then where is the 'ram' effect coming from if it is in the engine compartment. Why don't they call it something like IVAI= increased volume air intake.

If AEM CAI is installed, does one have to remove the front bumper to service the filter?

well i would almost urge u to wait for the cobb sri but ur not willing. i would say get the hks as ur other options cai's can be a b**** to take in and out for warranty work and its a turbo'd car whether its cai or short ram same effect hks seems like an ok product but can be expensive i love my cobb though

this is just death on the forum. Search this and you will find the thread with the Dyno results of all listed CAI and SRI's for the speed3. Injen wins with HP/Torque, MSCAI for no warranty issues but not available, AEM as they now have the straightener and they made the MSCAI and the COBB if you can wait and are afraid of Hydro lock and dont mind not as much HP/Torque.

Not sure where the name came from, but there's no ram-air effect at all since the car has a turbo on it. When I had my supercharged Grand Prix I always got a kick out of folks putting ram air hoods on them and calling it as such, when it was nothing more than a fresh air intake.

Cleaning wise, all you have to do is drop the lower portion of the nose clip or remove the drivers wheel and related housing. It's a snap if you have a lift or way of getting good clearance under the car.

I take my car to a local performance shop to change my oil as they put it up on the lift and drop the nose for me at no extra charge.

It should be what the rest of the market calls them... WAI... warm air intake.

CP-E FTW.

There are only a few intakes that are proven not to screw up fuel trims

CPE and COBB.

Since Cobb is on crazy back order, I'd say get CP-E. To me it's well worth the money
