Sorry it wasn't one =(

wow, awesome pictures, and a good looking car to boot. Love the wheels! I actually think painting the full emblem like you have (IE blacking out the other parts) looks a hell of a lot better than the 'dremmelled' version of the flying M. Very nice.

Hey Jaf....those are the TL projectors right? Look nice. Do you have any shots with the projectors on? Just wondering what they look like on the Mazda.

Jeg, yours looks almost like my old P5 front end. Except I made my own wind splitter.

Sweet. I got mine pretty much for free, it was of a MSP that got parted out that I grabbed the side skirts and rear lip off of. I picked up the bumper for someone else and took the splitter for myself and sold the fogs. I also picked up the radio surround and wheel well liners at the same time. Man my car was loaded with parts on the way home that night! lol

Awesome photos. ARe those real Advan RG rims?

Anyways..Altspace is correct. There's too much reflection. When you shoot front shots like that, have both the umbrellas facing each other on either side of the car and farther apart. I also find that raise/lower your stands so that the flashes are aimed at the wheels, and so when you take your shots, you don't see the reflections of your umbrellas. It's all about the light angles and where you place yourself. Anyways..wicked pics. I still have a lot to learn as well. Actually, GR is probably the best person to ask about working with off camera flash...his Miata pics are killer.

There's a bit there but not as much. Like this:

I prefer shooting without umbrellas and diffusers. Umbrellas and softboxes will only work well when there is a fair amount of distance from them and the car, otherwise you get those reflections. Most speedlites won't have enough juice to light a car if they are distanced 25-30'. 320ws+ strobes will be needed if you want to use an umbrella at a decent distance.

I prefer the portability of the speedlites so I just shoot them without softening them.

Nice photos Jaf. Third one has a bit too much light reflection on the front though.

Thanks. I'm not the one taking the photo's its my friend and we saw too much reflection when we took the shot. He knows about it, just experimenting with different techniques. I still like the shot though. Strobing is an art on its own, takes awhile to really get good at it. Even in my sig pic you can see the umbrella lol.

damn jaf i love your car and pics! Show us a pic with the lights on if you can. Those lights look amazing.

Thanks, we tried shooting into the cut off beam but just ended up which much glare. I think we'll try to shoot the cut off next time we go out for some pictures. But it's something in my opinion that can't be captured by a photo, it needs to be seen in person :)

No they are not (wink)

That must have been fun. The Pro certainly looks good now. Yea, I hooked up with free material to build my splitter. Also note the custom front grill. It's a DGM fiberglass piece that I painted to match and also cut OEM plastic mesh to fit.

I never noticed that. It looks pretty good. (yes I went back and looked)

Nice shot, but a little too much foreground blur for my liking. Makes the car look like it was photshopped in to the image.
