So how many would be interested in a lightweight dual mass flywheel for there speed3? I can estimate the cost at about $500-525 retail. GROUP BUY is a plus. For 10 orders on we could do around $400-425. Ill start the list.

specifically, how would it compare to the mazdaspeed light weight flywheel?

That flywheel does not work on the MAZDASPEED3. Sorry. But it will be a great deal lighter than the 43lb stock flywheel. I would say it will probably be a minimum weight loss of 20lbs. Which will increase throttle response, turbo spool and overall acceleration.

i am interested, but not able to commit to $$$ right now. i would rather hold out until i need a clutch replacement. who is going to make it ??

The torque on our motor @ idle is already pretty anemic, lots of people stalling it out, even lighter flywheel is going to drastically amplify that issue. Is it worth it for the high rpm/ low gear improvements? For pure drag racing rights yes, but at the expense of daily driving...I am not so sure.

I'd be interested in one for the Speed6. More info/pics please.
Even a 10lb weight loss would be great.

What about the Speed6?

I always was under the impression the MS6 and MS6 would share the same clutch/flywheel.. or have I been wrong?

OEM and Spec part numbers are different car to car. from what i have seen with my own eyes i do not think they are interchangeable.

im in need of a new clutch, hoping another option besides spec comes out.

yall at PG know anyone working on a clutch for our car?

right now spec is the only option. we've been truly happy with the ones we've worked with on these cars so far. i imagine Exedy will have one within a year as they make the OEM units for most Mazdas anyhow.

wait so our stock clutches are exedy?

i had a lightweight flywheel and upgraded clutch on my gti 1.8t, the flywheel was 11lb and i loved it passionatly, it just grabbed from the get go and it made the car feel so different, at first it was wierd cause i kept stalling, but then i got so used to it, it felt better than stock. the downside though... it chattered like a mofo... but people always said my car sounded like a hoompty, but i left them in the dust anywho.

if i needed a clutch/flywheel upgrade at this point, i probably be all over this, but money is an issue, and i only have 10000 miles on my car so its no need as of yet.

exedy makes OEM clutches and has for years. they aren't as strong as what they market as their performance clutches though.
