I have installed one of those immitation Ebay knock off Greddy Type-S blow off valves with an ATP adapter flange. Total cost was $30 for the flange and $25 for the bov, so for less than 60 bucks this was a great upgrade from the stock bpv and was much cheaper than other bov/bpv put there! Hope you enjoy how it sounds.

It holds boost much better, just have to adjust the top with an allen wrench. You would also have to remove the top and turn it a little bit so that the tube that the vacuum hose sticks into doesn't hit the hood, but that doesn't take long.

Finally got the sound clips today while at work, took 4 of them had my friend use my camera to record it.

Here they are:

Remember its not the real Greddy type-s so it sounds more like the whoosh of a Greddy type rs for the most part, still pretty cool and cheap! I wish it made the actual whistle of the real Greddy Type S tho, that would kick ass! I may at some time try to find a real Type-S and se how that sounds installed, but they are so damn expensive!

These are the parts needed for it in case anyone wants to try to get one:

lol man that is cheap and sounds pretty good. You would think for 30 bucks though, eithers its gonna leak or not last long or something.

i'd say just replace the spring of a real greddy or just install a real one.

sounds pretty good though, but it will end up costing you later on when it starts to leak.

There are 2 springs inside of it inside each other, a thick larger one and a skinnier tiny one. Combined they seem to hold up well. I have it adjusted to my driving taste and it has been pretty good for the last month since I put it in.

I have no idea how to check for leaks but it sure as hell pulls and feels much better than the stock one that came on the car

how does a bov make ur car faster? it just release air.

no one ever said it was supposed to make the car faster...

the car feels better to drive and pulls harder than with the stock bpv since it holds boost much better without leaking or releasing it during normal driving or low speed rpm

actually the purpose of a GOOD bov is to gain performance, not just make silly noises. if the spring it tighter than stock you will spool up and make full boost sooner. not to mention that MOST stockers leak.

What makes you think your stock bypass valve was leaking?

Has anybody done any dyno testing with these to prove they make a difference?

exactly, hey thanks for your help too on all my bov questions. Even though this is the fake one. It's holding up well now that I tightened up the spring a bit. It does seem to spoon up faster and pull harder. on a side note, the silly noises are a nice side effect to having the bov. I'm running it reirculated, I just did the videos for the vta for people to hear in case they wanted to run it like that. Their choice to do so if they want.

Thanks for doing this and sending me the info, I just ordered the blow off valve and atp adapter kit. Can't wait to get it on and see how it does!

a local guy by me phillyb is also getting his as well. I took him for a ride in the car and he also stood outside when I drove it around and loved the sound of it. In the video i have the back muffler and resonator removed, but now I took the 1st resonator off, so I removed 3 things and it sounds pretty freakin badass and growls like hell now! The bpv sound has actually gotten louder as well, it sounds great!

i was able to hear it all the way down the block, and you weren't even pulling hard. i think you were just cruising.
but in the ride, it felt much stronger than my stock bpv.
by stronger i mean, it felt like it held boost better and when it got rid of it, it was a tighter sound

NIIICCCCEEE! You will enjoy yours! It echoes down the street I think! It's obviously not as loud as a VTA or a real Greddy but for a knock off thats recirculated its pretty damn loud in person!

I was thinking about giving you my camera and recording me so I would have a newer video with the louder muffler on it. Just too damn hot that day, but the camera was in the armrest

hahaha. it wasn't too hot to drive the car and show me what it does, but it was too hot for me to record?
hahaha
all jokes aside, it was ******* hot that day. i'm really looking forward to this valve. i'll let you know when i get the adapter in and you let me know when the silver arrives :)

would you say it sounds louder in person than in the video? Just so that those out there listening to the videos and deciding if they want this or not can know. As I personally have not heard the 50/50 hybrid turbo xs or turbosmart in person I cannot say its any louder or not. But for recirculated its pretty good amoutn of sound

sounds nothing like a type S should though like you said. but next time around I'll be buying a knock-off if I can't find a rebuild kit from greddy.
