MS3 Gas milage?

Yeah, I'm getting the BEGi Airbox in the next couple of weeks, and I hope that it helps improve my mileage a little bit. We shall see.

so far I am seeing between 24 and 25 mpg calculated the old fashioned way. Much better than my old tank (jeep) but still not quite what I was hoping for the new car. Perhaps after she is fully broken in it will improve.

should

Yeah, I'm getting the BEGi Airbox in the next couple of weeks, and I hope that it helps improve my mileage a little bit. We shall see.

When I installed an AEM cold air on the Neon, [Na] the mileage went up a ton. MScai dealer installed on delivery. I think anything to free up flow on the turbo engine will help you out in more ways than one!

For the past two and one-half months (starting at app 28,000 miles), I've been attempting to improve my mileage, and I've finally arrived at this conclusion: I used a light foot on the throttle, and eventually the computer must have reprogrammed to my new driving style (for a real improvement in mileage). My first six months ownership average (computer) mileage was 27.2. Then it dropped (over the fall & winter to 25.2). It is now back up to 27.2, but the good part is that each of my last four fill ups showed increasing mileage. Today's fill up indicated 32.6 mpg (miles driven/fuel to fill tank). This was for 337.5 miles and included 150 miles of Interstate driving at up to 75 (flowing with traffic) as well as in town and two lane highway (stop signs, a variety of speed zones from 35 to 55 mph). The car is stock and the tires have 32# of air pressure. I believe that the computer eventually reprogrammed to my new driving style because the increased mileage came slowly at first, but now I am gaining about 1 mpg/fill up. Naturally, this increase in mileage cannot continue. Eventually things will level off, but the computer predicted 507 miles for this tankful (484 for the previous), and so far each time it has predicted increased mileage per tankful, I've gotten better mileage than the previous tankful. Take it for what it's worth.

I got 400 miles in one Tank. I did everything from crusing @ 55-65 in the high way, accelirating slow in the city, and keeping it at low Rpms.(breakn) This means i got 30 mpg city/highway right? muahahaha(nana)

I'll assume you meant in one tank. Thats some pretty good numbers, I've only filled up 3 times so far so I'm still waiting to average out my fuel economy.

If you dont do at least 75 on the freeways around here you get run off the road, the min posted limit is 60 so it makes people driving for fuel economy back up traffic like crazy so most of my freeway driving is between 70-80mph

i got 27mpg on my last tank. I'd guess about a 70 highway/30 city split. Shift at ~3k. Highway cruise from 55-70. I usually get around 25 mpg. 50/50 split. All calculated old fashioned way. Car computer says 28.9mpg

Haha my mistake, must have read that wrong... I'm at half tank with 150 miles currently, I have the sport so none of these fancy computer calculators, I have to do it manually. Which for the first 3 tanks and 870miles on my car I've averaged 21mpg which is 85% city driving and short trips.

Sorry, it's not 14.5. s***, I wish. It's actually 12.5. I let my computer get down to 1 mile left of fuel and I filled it up. I got 12.9 which is the most I have ever gotten in the car. I always drive on empty for a while before I fill up too.

I'm also sorry, does anyone read the owners manual? Never trust a trip computer.

2008 Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3
Fuel Tank Capacity: 14.5 gal.
EPA Mileage Estimates: (City/Highway)
Manual: 18 mpg / 26 mpg
Range in Miles: (City/Highway)
Manual: 261 mi. / 377 mi.

My brother works for Mazda and said the manual is wrong. I am not just looking at the trip computer, I am looking at the gauge and measuring how much I can put back in.

What's the most you have ever been able to put in at a fill up?

Thats kind of strange, so the hard copy owners manual and Mazda USA have wrong info, so all the auto websites such as edmunds.com have incorrect info? Would have thought they would try to clear that up by now.

Personally I never let my tank get down to empty so I don't know.
