Other Mazdaspeed Shift Knobs

Does anyone know if the thread pitch is the same between the P5 and other Mazdas? I really like the Mazdaspeed knobs for the RX8 and NC Miata. I did a bit of searching and found nothing about these other knobs. I don't want to spend the $100 + and have it not fit. Thanks in advance!

Chris, the pitch is the same for the RX-8 as the P-5. (not sure about the Miata) I used to have an RX-8 knob on my P5. Nice knob...I got mine for $30 on ebay. Sold it to an MOCC member.

Thanks Patrick!! Yeah I am looking at the Mazdaspeed knob for the RX8 and Miata. The rotary shaped knob from the RX8 doesn't really do it for me.

Edit: So if anyone knows about the Miata (especially the NC since that knob is hot) please post up!

not sure what kind, but i know it came from a miata... the top is glossy black with the silver shift pattern underneath, and it weighs a TON! It may sound corny but i could actually tell the difference when i shifted, its way nicer

^^^ Nope, nope - that's a knob off a '07+ Mazda3. I know this because I have the same one :) Matches the interior perfectly I might add...

I think I've got the one you're talking about, the one from the Mazdaspeed6, Mazdaspeed3 and MX-5.

It fits perfectly on the P5, and it's a really good, weighted knob. Makes the shifter have a more sold, heavier, but at the same time smoother shifting feel. And it's mainly metal so it feels cold to the touch, too, unlike the regular knobs which are plastic. Too bad it's got a 6-speed shift pattern on it, but otherwise it's a good looking shifter too. For $20 off ebay, I really can't complain.

^^^ Wishful thinking, huh? If only... But yeah, I believe most modern Mazda shift knobs have the same threading. The only exception being the Protege MP3s which have a different pattern for some unknown reason.

Correct. All Mazdas 2000+ have the same thread pattern (1.25 pitch) with the exception of the 2001 MP3 Protege. Miata included. I believe that there was possibly a special edition mx5 in 03 with a diff pattern but I'm not sure.

NC ftw! That's a really nice looking knob (LOL). I might have to look into getting one of those in the future.

Why thank you! Yeah just don't let your eyes pop out of your head when you see the price. Mazda's website lists them at $150.

Damn I just gave away my idea though... oh well.

Are you serious?! And I thought my old TWM knob was expensive, damn. Don't worry about me stealing any ideas - especially at that price. Besides, all appearance mods have been suspended for the time being :)
