Hello all. I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2008.5 MS3 GT. My choices in order of purchase availability are: Metropolitan Gray Mica (today), Black Mica (Friday), or Crystal White Pearl Mica (Saturday/Monday).

The BM is an ok and safe color choice given the stock silver wheels. However, having seen the MGM in person... kinda sold on it, but the sun wasn't out either (overcast). So not sure how it fares against the stockers. I've only seen pictures of the CWPM, but think it's definitely an interestingly different choice for me... as I'm not typically a white car kinda person. Would definitely consider going with RX-8 5-stars on the white.

We'll see this afternoon.

I'll just say midwest for now. Actually, many dealers are about to receive their '08.5 MS3's. So anyone looking should really inquire with Mazda USA to find out what some dealers don't already know.

It's been a bit of a negotiating hassle, as I'm requesting the chosen vehicle be hauled and not driven (if BM or CWPM). I prefer to do break-ins myself and not leave it to some "gotta get it delivered" driver. So naturally they want to charge me much on the hauling.

As for black being fastest... sure, but I've owned my share of black cars and am thinking I would like a break from the constant cleaning.

I'm secure in my masculinity and all, but that blue just wasn't for me. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice color on the car... for someone else. Besides, I've never owned a blue car. No need to start now.

We'll see in the morning as to which dealer plays the white car(d) right. Hmmm... that almost sounded racist. It's all good though, I'm part Asian. So I'm in the right car.

Nah. I do like the blue, it's just not me. Me thinks the white looks kinda JDM... ya know, like the Type R when it came out. With the right tint and wheels... white is right.

I'm pretty much in the same situation as you.

Originally, requested True Red. Then called and changed my mind to Crystal White Pearl. Now, i'm debating on Black (never owned a black car) but I'm completely intrigued by the Metropolitan Gray. I don't know why this is such a big deal, but I also love to detail my cars, and my SS is white and very easy to detail.

I just don't know how convinced I am by the looks of the MS3 in white. I think i'm in denial over the fact the car looks so small in white..

The black just looks wicked but like others said it's a job to keep looking clean.

I quick detail mine like every night and don't mine doing it, it's relaxing and you get to see your results fast

Just get some "Mequiars quick detailer" takes like 5-10 min to mist and wipe with a terry cloth. You do this in between washes and it keeps your car looking hott.

Now if you're lazy black is not the color for you.

I'm certaintly not lazy. However, the car does sit outside underneath a car port. My parents live about 20 minutes away so I could always go there and detail it. I've got this folder of MS3 pictures and I have been finding some sick Black Mica shots.

My friends opinion is:

Black Mica and Metro Gray hide the body lines of the MS3.
Crystal White Pearl and True Red show the accents along the side.

My opinion is:

CWP looks good overall, but I'd honestly have to see it in person. I love Red but don't like how it fades over time and it truely is a cop magnet. Not ready to tarnish my perfect record. Black looks gorgeous but is a total PITA (of course this is from what I hear) and Metro Gray is something I used to consider "Depressing Gray" but I could be wrong if it looks more black than that nasty gray on the normal Mazda 3.

I think they all look good, and I WISH they would have kept Cosmic Blue.

I agree all of the colors are pretty nice and you can always add your own personal touch with a nice set of wheels , tint, etc to bring out the cars features even more. In the end it's whatever makes you happy.

I personally can't decide what color is going to make me happy anymore. I want to be different this time around. Red would be a first, Black would be a definite first and a hell of a new challenge. I wish the damn cars would just get in stock so I can go in person!

The Metro Gray actually has quite a bit of blue to it. Was going to go with the cosmic blue, but once I saw the Metro Gray in person it was an easy decision.
