Plug and Play XEDE Inside

Ok everyone, let's take a step back.

1-Last I checked, the title of this thread had the word "XEDE" in it, not "CP-E Standback". If you'd like to discuss the two, feel free, just not in this thread. We're not going to disrespect our vendors like that.

2-dadasracecar - Yes, you have a point about the standback having a nicer interface and larger tables. Ken already conceded this point before you even posted in this thread. You've made your point, Ken isn't arguing with it, so move on. See point #1 in this post.

3-Captain KRM P5 -Take this as a learning experience. In the future, if customers are asking you for details, you might be better off giving them more specific details as to not allow someone to jump in and do it for you. While your post was honest from the start, you kind of left yourself open.

Anyway, the nitpicking ends here. Any further comparison between the two units is not going to occur in this thread, so please continue it in another thread if you feel the need.

For all those who are interested in this new ProtegeGarage product, please continue to discuss it here.

Thanks,
-The Internet

thank you Dana. i'm happy to move on for everyone interested in asking further questions.

i am not biased against CP-e, where do you get that idea? josh and jordan will attest to the fact that i want to sell more and more of their products than just the standback. when people call in to place orders I often recommend thier product over some one else's. i am not biased against CP-e. I do have more experience with the XEDE this is true. we've had fantastic results with the XEDE and I am not going to shy away from that. the system works well and we've proven that quite well. I don't think there is any argument against that. to be fair and impartial we have achieved results with the XEDE on the dyno and at the track which people with any other system have yet to duplicate and we have done so without blowing the car to pieces. i'm not saying thats because the XEDE is better. i'm not saying its because we are better tuners. i'm just saying that we've clearly been able to do that here. is it possible we could have done the same with the standback? we've thought about that alot and i'd like to think we can. i just don't have a car here with that level of modification or a standback to play with.

I haven't had the chance to take the CP-e to the same level, simply because we don't have many cars in the area that run it. I'll agree the interface is easier, it does have some options the XEDE does not. You already illustrated that in your post so I didn't see any need to repeat those points. in terms of the things i posted, they are capable of tuning those shared things.

i've defended CP-e in many threads from people like Laloosh, Mrlilguy and others. I've called the people involved in bashing of them and asked them to knock it off. You are in another one of my threads causing drama, yet again, and there is no reason for it. You think I am biased against CP-e, frankly I think you look for any point inconsequential, small, large what have you to pick apart against me or someone who works for/supports me. If you want to contribute to the thread and educate me, you can do it in a professional manner and you know it. You choose not to because I think you are trying to pick a fight where there is none. Tell me I am wrong and give any example where I have ever outright bashed CP-e and I'll gladly bow to that.
I'm in the area with standback. And I would be more than happy to come to the shop so you guys can learn a little more about the standback. You work on my car about 4 months ago when you guy's installed a rework turbo. My manifold came today so I'm going to need it installed and retuned. And maybe I can set up some dyno time at R&l to see what type of number she'll make.

thats a really good idea, i do remember you. call me or PM me when you are ready.

hey "out of the box" whats the diff from the xede and the standback? the xede claims to make more power right out of the box does it lean out the fuel? with the standback all the tables are zero you tune yourself, does the xede come with lean fuel for power?? hmmmm does this mean its safe for me to pull some fuel...:)

For me , i need one EMS for void my fuel cut so .... ? Anybody have the answer ? Xede or CP-E .

both systems have voltage based clamp options to curb the fuel cut. neither one is 100% effective however you will eliminate it under most circumstances. we've hit it maybe 4 times in the last 4 months on the XEDE tuend mazdaspeed6

i have to be careful how i make comparisons here or i'll be accused of being disingenuious, biased, wrong, causing 9/11, etc ;)

either system will do whatever you tune it to do. you can tune either system to add or pull fuel, add or pull timing, add or pull boost. the map for the XEDE "out of the box" does pull fuel and lean the system out. it comes with the map that BEGi used for thier initial MS3 dyno pulls, with minor adjustments.

hmmmm... so the PNP harness is $225 shipped/ in stock?

yes
