TurboXS hybrid valve installed...questions

first things first, this thing is typical turboxs- perfect machining, clear instructions and complete hardware. I don't particularly care about sounds of BOV as long as they are not too loud, but it sounds neat without being obnoxious like some of the full VTA valves can be.

so...i installed it with 4 washers against the spring and it seems to be working a-ok. i got the 4 washer suggestion from jermaine aka "money" at turboxs. i'm curious, is that what you all are running with stock boost? also, i know it doesn't matter because i'll be running the Cobb intake soon, but i'm curious why they could not have made it just a little bit shorter to allow for all of the stock ducting to stay in place. oh well, no biggie, but still ; )

anyway- it works well, hopefully it'll prevent any potential leaks and keep that thing spooled.

Tho I'm wondering with the intake if I should add/subtract washers
 
running 4 washers on mine with no issues. It peaks at 15 then holds steady at 13 or so. Are you all seeing the same?
 
I am thinking about getting the hybrid also, are there any concerns with provability, etc...? (huh)

Also, doesn't the ECU use/see/need the recirculated air?

I am undecided on whether to go hybrid or just stay with the regular recirculation.

There is the theory that at WOT under boost with the way the ECU runs, your ECU wont notice the missing air of VTA. However, at low throttle, your motor runs a different ECU loop, and the missing air causes the car to run rich, pop, stutter, and all that good stuff.

the hybrid doesn't seem to cause any of these issues. before i got it i asked mark mcgovern @ TXS if he's heard of one report of a MIL from using this valve and he said no. same thing with driveability changes.

and he must be telling the truth because i've got like 600-700 miles on it w/ it so far and i've not had one instance of strange behavior.

How does the sounds differ from the factory valve...?
From the video, it sounds like the factory valve with an intake... (shrug)

it's pretty loud even with a stock intake. i mean it's noticeable.

when i put the cobb intake on, and drove by a dude getting his mail, i spooled then let off and the dude ducked and spun around as if i threw something at him.

hmm, maybe i'll try to do a video myself (direct)
 
i may be able to get a video for ya tonight. i've got the hybrid. no complaints. not too loud, but its there and people notice it. with an intake it sounds pretty sick.

no stuttereing or backfiring ever.
 
Does venting to atmosphere increase spool time in between shifts....?
With the recirculating valve, the air is vented back into the turbo inlet, thus recycling the air... With VTA, does the turbo need to build up that missing volume of air?
