New a little help from the big modders...

OK, so I'm a little lost on what to do next... I just installed a CP-E DP this pasted weekend and I am wondering what to do next.

Its either the cat-back or the ETS TMIC... Which will yield better performance/power?

It kind of bothers me to know I have an incomplete/mis-matched exhaust system, though I don't want to spend the money on something with little return since most say that the CBE is just a sound mod and doesn't really yield any horsepower.

This is what my DP to stock cat-back look like.

What do you guys suggest? Do you guys see any issues running the stock CBE? Would I see any gains upgrading the CBE since I now have a DP?
Will I see more gains with a ETS TMIC...?

Thanks for the help!!! (2thumbs)

Based on everything I have read you would be better off buying the 3.25" TMIC. I have been told upgrading just the CBE does very little.

there would be gains to getting a cbe in addition to your downpipe, these gains would most likely be minimal, but anytime you increase the overall flow you will see increased power. that being said, I would probly agree with other posters that it would be more benficial to get the upgraded intercooler first.

What about an exhaust manifold upgrade? The claimed power gains on this are off the hook. I wonder how much it would increase power with a free flowing downpipe on the outlet of the turbo like he already has?
The TMIC has the advantage of being a seriously easy install by comparison, but would it equal the gains of the manifold?

Edit: I just noticed that he specifically asked about two options. Sorry.

So the advice is to upgrade the TMIC...?

What are the advantages/differences between the 3", 3.25", and the 3.5" core? Which one is recommended?
I guess its a good time to buy one since PG is giving the boost tubes and T-clamps with it...?

I am sure others will chime in but I think the 3.5 is too big..or causes some fit issues with the shroud. 3 or the 3.25 seem to work with no issue.

Mod order as I would do it
intake
testpipe
dp
remove muffler
tmic
fuel pump
exhaust
bc 20psi
You would then have a low 12 second car!!

3.5 works just fine and will flow more air than the two mentioned above. LOL
I dont know why people would think otherwise.
The srt community runs all the way up to 4inches and a bigger core too. They continue to gain power, especially in the summer. You will hardly notice the difference between 3 and 3.5 in the winter but in summer you will. So why not do it right the first time.

NO DOUBT ABOUT IT 3.5 ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take the advice of people who run it. It works the best I guarantee it and Id be glad to prove it on the dyno mid summer if anyone wants to challenge my opinion. Send me your 3inch intercooler and Ill dyno the s*** outa it vs. mine.

Yeah, if 3.5 works, then cool. I thought I just remembered a posting about how it was on the verge of being too big or something.

Also, I didn't mean to insinuate that 3.5 or even bigger wasn't possible with the car, I am just saying what will fit on a stock MS3. I guess you could do a 6" TMIC if you had the hood for it.

the thicker the core the colder the charge...so yeah i would go with 3.5 or at least 3.25. The only issue I've heard of with the 3.5 (and this is not personal experience, just what ive heard) is that you need to trim some of the plastic ducting to ensure proper hood clearance

How many people are running the 3.5 core?
Are there any fitment issues?

PG no longer has the free boost tubes and T-clamp offer, though the website still says it... :(

when i bought the 3 1/4" pg had stopped selling the 3 1/2". I guess the fitment issues have been rosolved as they are selling it again.

i would go with 3.5 inch, driver 311 has it and he has no problem , and fit ment isnt a problem.

I don't know why people are having fitment issues with the bigger core. I have the 3.5 installed it like the instructions said and have no issues whatsoever. I love it and there's a huge difference in hmmph the way the car feels.

I suggest going with the ETS TMIC..3.25 so u don't have issues with it rubbing.

You will def be able to feel the car pull harder..I def felt that mod on the Butt Dyno.

I dont know why people would think otherwise.

I think it was Ken from PG that posted a while back that there was almost no difference in cooling efficiency between the 3.25 and 3.50. At that time some people were having fitments issues with the 3.5 core.

I don't know if he was right or not, but I think thats where the whole think started.
