so i will try and keep in touch as much as i can

Update
I havent gone to the track since my last setup, but going again on 2-16-08

i am trying to compete in LordWorm's Race to 100whp per liter
i also want to get into AutoX where skill is more important because of the horrible drag times, its kinda like how much money can i put in my car that makes you faster...

so hit me up if you want to get into drag, autox and drift(JKJKJKJKJK wtf FF FTL)

so here are some pics of my car as it is now...

Wiring i've heard is a nightmare
The things i need of course are:
KL-ZE Motor - $1,199
KL-ZE ECU - $300
KL-ZE MT w/ LSD - $900
KL-ZE Installation - $2000

i'm working a lot and getting good pay so i'm pretty sure i'll be able to afford it by the end of next year...

BTW I could still compete in 100whp per liter... i'll just need 249.7whp doh...

whoops... sorry...so used to the non hatch. (>.<)"

sorry to get your hopes up... but if i was desperate enough i could try and get a custom made one... but that's gonna be way expensive... and improbable cause i dont know much shops that do that...

any tips for me this saturday?

i just got back from the track and yay!! i did better than i expected... the car has the same mods from august when i last ran it and took .7 seconds off my time... i also hit 80mph and got a perfect RT and a 2.6 0'60"
timeslip coming soon once i scan everything... i got to run 7 times and won a couple!!!

Hey, nice build- I wish I had the coin to mod like this...fyi, I would do some research on the 626 intake mani before purchasing...most NA guys say that it actually gives you loss of HP, especially in the low and middle RPMs. I hear it's great if you are running a turbo, but I think the best route for us NA guys is porting the stock mani and removing VTCS. Happy modding!

that's what i heard... but since i'm kinda getting it for free because my friend "totalled" her 626... only if she had the KL-ZE 626(naughty)... or actually KL-DE, my bad...

i might sell it to a MSP owner or something if it turns out horrible... i kinda liked having all the power at the high end... i was running open exhaust at the track and ever since i put it back on... its like... this is it? i was also running 100+ octane, maybe that had something to do with it(bike)... if i have the 626 IM im sure it'd give me some gains at the track... trap speed more than anything though...

i wish there was like a Hondata version of Mazda AKA Mazdata ECUs
i want the IM Gasket just to keep my IM from heating up too much... maybe put some ice on it to or something...

so thanks for reading!

In theory, a worked KLZE should achieve 100whp per L far easier than the FS... the KLZE is slanted more towards performance from the outset...the FS is a nanna engine that requires some extreme work to get it play ball...

KLZE will fly though - even if you don't quite hit the power mark... get ready for some 13 second or lower quarter miles ;)

One issue i've seen on some other KLZE in P5 conversions....is getting the stock tacho to talk to the KLZE ecu.. you may need to get fancy...

aftermarket ecu's have tacho outputs, but i've heard on the grape vine that the voltages provided aren't right and you risk blowing your instrument cluster if you try... if you can work out what signal the gauge cluster needs though, you could build a circuit to convert the signal from an after market ecu to a signal the instrument cluster will live with....

good luck =)

i just might have to get new tachs huh? an aftermarket will do....

okay! time to do some research on the motor itself and will report what i find interesting here

wtf my car was just hit in the parking lot by some dood or doodette, mind you, and raced off

it happened less than hour ago... ive already talkd to the police and they sent a guy here alrdy... theres nothing they could do cause i didnt get their plate numbers...
i was doing research on the new MS3 when i heard some guy in a vehicle doing donuts... mind you its in a middle of a thunderstorm, i can see my car from my window... judging that my left taillight is busted, my bumper is almost off, and my rear hatch is bent... i truck hit it... im sure a FWD cant do donuts well... then theres that plastic on plastic noise and i hear him race off.... i knew my car was hit... i look up hoping i was wrong... i didnt have my glasses or my contacts on... cuz i was in bed... i see one black tailight(right)
and one really shiny reflecty taillight(left)...

"F**K!"

woke up my brother/roomate

"my car just got hit, come on"

walking to my car in a thunderstorm has never sucked anymore... its also 2am in the morning... my tailight was shattered on the ground... floating away in the river the rain created... and then we find a business card?!!??!?!?! thanks jerk.... the police said theres nothing they could do, until we find out who the other person is... so monday.... were going to go check out this place... which is near my work... out of town... coincidence??

this is going to push me back

Damage pics

+1 on the grill.

The DGM copy would be the next best but it is still fairly expensive.
Everything is a fair bit cheaper but pales in comparison quality-wise.

GL in your search. Cheers.

Or to get a tach signal, you can use one of these:
