Have MS6s had this problem...?
Have any info on those part numbers? Or when the fix may/may not have been implemented (dates or VINs or whatever)? ThxI have just a test pipe and mine started smoking a little while back. I'm pretty sure there are some stock exhaust guys with the same issue as well.
Mazda obviously knows this is an issue as they have changed the turbo part numbers on the new replacement turbo, most likely indicating a design change.
The removal of the cat would obviously make this look worse as much of the smoke would be stopped by either of them... but at the same time fouling them and your O2 sensors. If they fail, you're looking at quite a bit of cash to replace 2 cat's and 2 O2 sensors.
I know a few people with full catbacks have had their turbo's replaced under warranty.
It looks like Jessie is getting to know your car very well. Anyone have any idea if this is going to be turned into a recall?
I wonder if Mazda dealers would be willing to forfite the factory replacement turbo for a supplied (owner bought) upgraded turbo and install that one instead... Hmmmm????
You'll loose any claim to warrenty and they will charge you for the installation.
^^^That's normal.... that's the richness in the tune and the air velocity catching up to the fuel you just dumped in...
I don't know, but you can probably double the power output in that thing by going from 6v to 12v!!!!
