Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S Opinions?

It's inevitable, the tires are wearing out. I'm trying to start my research now on what tires to purchase in the future. The Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S's seem to be a pretty hot ticket for the price. Is anyone else out there running them on the MS3? What are the opinions out there on these compared to the stockers?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I have them on my MS6...and I like them

from what i understand, they're very good for dry traction, but not as good as some others in the class for wet traction. for you people who've tried out this tire: does this sound right?

Why not look at Falkens or Kumho's? For the quality, theyre quite affordable.

The zero neros left a bad taste in my mouth after fitting the M3 with them.

I have them on my protege and its the only tire I will use. Great dry and wet traction. No hydroplaning even when they are worn.

I have had them on my Mazda3 since about March. I use them as a summer tire, but wanted something with a bit of winter tire functionality for our weird weather in Michigan just in case I get caught in some off-season snow.

I like them a lot. They have good grip in dry (for a 400 rated tire), good hydroplane resistance, and seem to do pretty well as far as wet grip. There are probably better tires for wet grip out there, but these are much better than the Hankooks I had last summer. As long as you're not looking for an absolute performance tire, but a well rounded all-season with emphasis on summer performance and just enough winter grip to get you by in light snow, I think you'll be happy.

Having said that, I think I'm going to try the less expensive, brand new, Falken ZE-912. I go through tires so fast that if I'm not happy with them I can switch back to the Pirellis.

ya, i have been really curious about how the falken ze-912's would compare to some of the other top all season tires out there.

The Pirelli P Zero Nero M/S is a wonderful tire. Very good in the dry and probably the best tire I've had in the wet (resists hydroplaning better than any other tires I've had.) Ride comfort is very good - a nice surprise considering the firm sidewalls. I'm down to the wear indicators after 23k, but I haven't been nice to em. I'm getting ready to pony up for four more before winter. As long as they make this tire, I won't buy anything else. They're a sure bet.

Running 205/50/16 on stock wheels btw...

Tire Rack has reviews against some competitors in it's class and it always finished first - dry, wet, all-around. My personal view of them in the wet is that they perform extremely well.

Thank you for all the input everyone! Looks liek I have a few more tires to research as well. I really like how sticky the Potenza's are that came on the car, but I don't know about shelling out $800+ per year. It seems like thats all they are going to last me.

Thanks again!

Thanks a bunch y'all! I decided to get me a set (235/45 17). I haven't got them mounted yet though (they haven't even shipped)... I hope they're not too big.

Oh yeah, quick question: are these directional tires?

They are not directional and can be rotated with no problem.

I had them shipped to me before my MS3 got delivered and had them fitted the very next morning. I didn't feel like taking a chance with the OEM Summer tires since I picked up the car on 12/30/06.

I rate these tires very highly as they have never run out of grip within the limits of my driving skills. They have plenty of traction in both the wet and the dry conditions while providing a decent ride, and I'd definitely recommend them. I have also heard great things about the Goodyear Eagle F1s, so I might try those next.

It's great to see so many positive opinions about these tires!

I was looking very closely at the F1 All Seasons as well. Actually if I'd purchased a couple days earlier I probably would have got some.

Awesome! The fact that the F1 All Seasons are directional was a major driving factor for me to look at the M+Ses more closely.

I'm on my second set of P-Zero Nero M+S. There will be a 3rd set for sure! :) I agree with all the reviews above.
