I just did quick estimate on parts. $2,500 covers most of the main stuff. I'm sure there will be at least a few hundred dollars added to that in hardware and smaller pieces that were destroyed. We'll have to wait and see what the body shop comes up with on labor, but I have a feeling it will be totalled.
wow...im surprised it cost that little with soo much damage...just to get my hood repaired, headlight replaced, and windshield replaced came out to be $1200
sorry to hear about your p5 being totalled...any idea what you're going to move on to next?
Car is totaled and will be back in my possession by the end of today.
How does that work?
Do they pay you what they think it was worth and then give you the wreck for free, or did you have to pay them for it?
What's the market price for a car that the insurance folks say isn't worth fixing???
I'm currently set on getting an E36 M3. That depends on how much the bank is willing to work with me, but it seems reasonable. I'll still be around here as I have a '94 Protege that I'll be building for autox next season.
The car in working condition was worth around $6,000.
$6000? How many miles did it have? I'm still seeing them regularly on the market for $10,000+. I think you got screwed, dude.
Also, any word on what happened that sent the other drive onto your side of the road?
