Aussies get 281hp/313lb-ft Mazda 3 MPS Extreme

the only thing i like are the wheels, and the black roof and spoiler. the rest is... like Je5ter said "cheesy"

wheel well accents? lame.

You can get a Mazdaspeed accessorized MS3 (intake, exhaust, suspension, wheels) straight from the dealer in the States for under 30K USD and you'd likely be pretty close to the performance of the Extreme without looking half as tacky.

With only a few exceptions like engine tune, and red leather seats, wheels. You could make this car with the mazda accessories catalog. All the interior bits are from there. Nothing ground breaking here, just a way for the dealers to mark um up. Get a Cai and the upgraded intercooler and I bet you get the same power levels or better.

I do like the stripes, but hate the cheesy wheel arches. I'm undecided on the roof, and kind of torn on the matte black wheels.

I think I'm most bothered by the flat black stripes and flat black wheels with the glossy black roof and wing. Flat or gloss: pick one.

...also, the "extreme" badge is extremely silly-looking, and the term "extreme" is played out.

Yeah, my bad. Name is irrelevant, ROTM kicks all kinda ass over that "Xtreme" one.

When you own a Mazdaspeed, it's more important than when you don't I guess. I agree, though, the only extreme thing about it to me is the extremely bad interior. With all that red everywhere, it's like looking inside somebody's chest during chest during open heart surgery. I'd still like the to get the flash, though. If it's still running the stock box, a CAI might get you up to 280hp/310tq at the wheels. It you could do that and keep your warranty, it'd be right nice.

I like the McDonalds color scheme in the engine bay :D

It's not a bad car, just unnessesary. I'd like to do my own ricing out, thanks :)

You're right, if the stripes and wheels were in glossy black it would look a lot better. I like how it looks with the black wheels, so I will think about it when its time to buy rims. I'm seriously thinking about a custom mazdaspeed hood stripe like that one.

I really am in love with those wheels, the flat black and the thin spokes with the middle really look sweet. The whole package, however, SCREAMS pull my ass over and throw me in jail. It's too much; I'll keep my sleeper Cosmic Blue, and I'd like to get them wheels and the flash!

I am surprised nobody has mentioned anything about the word "turbo" behind the front wheels. I like the stripes and even the roof/wing paint job...the rest, eh. Just gimme the flash, get black stripes painted on my Cosmic Blue and I would be happy with that.

+9999 for the oh so happy sig that always makes me.....smile. I wonder what she is saying...

that is badass, i think i just found my reason to move out to the US. Wonder how much it would cost to buy it and get it shipped over here.

Hmmm...I'd like the hood stripes, but thats about it. My Speed3 is Black Mica...so If I could get thim in flat black or maybe a dark grey, just s shade lighter, I'd dig it. Otherwise, I'll just stick with some aftermarket goodies to make mine faster.

And the Aussies have to live with Cane Toads. I think its a fair trade.

y not, ppl get cars from japan all the time and they are street legal, not sure what you have to do to them. But they are legal.

The only place I've ever known about being able to actually import the car here was Motorex and the Skylines, and we all know what happened to them. That, and there were plenty of stories of them, while still in business, of having cars get to customs while comming off the boats, and just getting stuck their for ever.

And then you have to figure if Mazda would sell it to you knowing that you were going to pick it up and move it back to the states. Hell, most Manufacturers are hard enough just getting one out of the US and into Canada, and vice versa. The grey market is no where near as easy as it seems to get cars into the US. Its not just buy it, ship it over, nuff said.

You won't be able to get it regestered here, it would have to pass our safety requirements first. Meaning you'd have to buy three. One to crash. One to modify with US spec safety bits and crash to proove that it would pass. Your third you could actually drive.
