Mazda MS3 Red with NAV
I lost my original MS3 ignition key.I have a spare one but i needed a spare again so i went and bought a new key, however it won`t start the engine and they want 110usd just to programm it in 5 minutes,is there a way i can do it or someone else can do it using a lap top.also they want 140usd for a stupid remote, surely that too can be decoded.Any ideas i need help.I`m not ging to pay 250usd for a remote and a simple key.

Actually, the key procedure is here:

Unfortunately you need to start with two keys the car already knows about, so I am afraid you are screwed and have to get them to do it. Sorry.

I suggest to everyone to buy a third key before you lose one and you can easily program it yourself. If you have only one (or none), the dealer has to do it.

Like Rotus said in order to program extra keys (you can have up to eight) you need to have two keys which are already programmed with you. If not then the dealer has to plug into your computer and do it that way. Price-wise they're a little off. Here's the parts you need. The website prices are quotes (including shipping) from Jason at www.onlinemazdaparts.com. You'll be able to program the remote yourself, but you'll still have to have the dealer program the key in. Incidentally if you order another key for you he can have it precut.

-Standard transponder key ('04-'07): Part number F1Y1762GX. MSRP-$23.65, Website-$18.92

-Standard remote fob ('07): Part number BAN6675RY. MSRP-$141.05, Website-$117.84

Personally I'd call a few other dealers and ask for a price on programming the key as $110 seems a little steep for, like you said, about 5 minutes work. Also like Rotus suggested get a third key to program in now so the next time you lose a key you don't have to deal with the dealer.

Looks like i`m screwed then howabout the alarm is there a compatible OEM alarm remote that can be programmed, another name barand or make perhaps.

Look on ebay for the right type of remote for your year.
I got two remotes for $24 on ebay and two keys for $10 each from Mazda. I got the keys cut locally for $3 each and then Mazda dealer programmed the keys for $65.

When I bought my used 2006 I was only given one key.
You defintely need to have TWO keys in order to do the "program a 3rd key yourself" procedure.
I now have three keys, two in a safe, so that if I lose one I can spend $15 and then reprogram it myself.

The remotes will program to the car easily if you just buy one and do the procedure.

While a good idea I don't know that he'll be able to find new remotes for that price. In 2007 Mazda changed the keyless entry system (not really sure why) and that's why the new remotes are so freaking expensive. However it never hurts to look so if he can find them then go for it. :)

OK BASICALLY AT THE MOMENT,ALL I HAVE IS ONE ORIGINAL REMOTE WITH AN ORIGINAL KEY AND ONE ORIGINAL CUT KEY FROM MAZDA.NOW I NEED THE SECOND REMOTE OR A PROGRAMMABLE CLONEABLE REMOTE AND A WAY TO PROGRAM THE CUT KEY FOR LESS THAN 40USD I`M NOT PAYING 150USD FOR A PLASTIC MADE IN CHINA CHEAP REMOTE AND CERTAINLY NOT PAYING 105+TAX AN HOURS LABOUR FOR A 5 MINUTE IGNITION KEY PROGRAMMING.(bang)(direct)COMBINE THE TWO I CAN GET A TWM SHORT SHIFTER AND SOME.

wasnt there a place that did the flip key for our car... i cant find the post.. but i know there was a website that did them

OK i found an original remote for 64+tax better than 133+tax at the dealership i guess.

Here http://www.keylessride.com/order/qu...e=Mazda&remoteyear=2007&model=3&frid=FFE44B30

Good find there, looks like a good price. I was initially worried that it was an earlier model remote, but it does specifically say 2007.

That would be www.onlinemazdaparts.com, however unless you're in Canada you can't get a flip key for your '07+ Mz3 (speed or regular). Since they changed the US keyless entry system the old remotes don't work anymore and there haven't been any new flip remotes brought out which work with the new system (in the US anyway).
