IMPORTANT UPDATE!

Unfortunately, it has been brought to my attention that trueimport has started a personal campaign thread on rx7club.com. Although there is no tolerance for such behavior in the MOTM 2.0....I realized the rules only cover Mazda Forums and not other sites.

Rule #2 BEFORE the update:
2. There is NO tolerance for PERSONAL 'campaigning' threads. The creation of such in ANY Forum on Mazda Forums will result in that car's immediate disqualification.

Rule #2 AFTER the update:
2. There is NO tolerance for PERSONAL 'campaigning' threads. The creation of such ANYWHERE (offline or online) including Mazda Forums will result in that car's immediate disqualification.

Despite the previous "loop hole", note rule #1:
1. All voters must have a postcount minimum of a 100 posts and have been a Mazda Forums member for at least 1 month. The only exception to this rule is for Contestants who are also new members.

Rest assured the MOTM 2.0 is and will always be a level playing field.

As for trueimport, although he created the thread while there was a loop hole in the rules...His behavior was clearly NOT in the spirit of the MOTM. Therefore, I'm going to penalize trueimport by removing 15 votes (current total as of this post: 53).

I dont think penalizing him for something that clearly wasnt in the rules is fair...if it happens after this point, sure, pentalize that person.

So what you're saying is: Even tho he didn't break a rule, we're still going to penalize him? Give me a damn break. That's ridiculous.

agreed

Despite the loop hole...This point is VERY clear:

"There is NO tolerance for PERSONAL 'campaigning' threads."

Obviously, creating a person campaign thread in ANYCASE is NOT in the spirit of the rule or the MOTM. Obviously, trueimport took advantage of the rules for his personal gain.

Yes, I really like his car but if the rules and general "spirit" of the contest are not enforced and maintained...Then the MOTM will cease to be the MOTM.

NOT penalizing trueimport after essentially doing what created a HUGE problem for the last MOTM vote thread would be ridiculous. The fact that I had to remove 10 pages of BS and close the thread in order to save the MOTM is ridiculous. I will NOT let that happen again!

This thread will stay on track. If you have an issue with this decision, I suggest you send it to me via PM. Thanks.

WAIT A MINUTE!!! That is absolute crap. FIRST off I didn't personally campaign anything!!!! YES I didn’t post a thread there simply stating that people should go and vote IF they had been a member HERE for a month or longer and if they had over 100 posts. I was simply joking about helping out a fellow rotary guy as you can see if you go and read the post. SECOND of all I DID NOT BREAK YOUR RULES! So how the hell are you going to penalize me for quote "YOUR OWN LOOP HOLE"?

This is total bull s***! Way to run a forum!!! I did NOTHING that was unsportsmanlike in any way, NORE did I do any sort of cheating!

Crack me up trueimport. Remember when I saw you Saturday I told you to keep a low profile and let things play out.

Damn dude, you lost 15 votes...

Here are bits from the rx7club thread that clearly show your intention to personally campaign for votes. You could have just mentioned the MOTM without encouraging your fellow rx-7 members to "hook you up".

trueimport "Voters are limited to 100 previous posts and that have been a member for the past month. If you fit that then come hook a fellow RX7 owner up!!!"

kontakt "What if I want to click on a link instead of finding it to do YOU a favor?"

3. Creating general "Vote for the MOTM" threads and links are not only allowed, it's encouraged!

I just joined the mazdas247.com forum and submitted my rx7 for the Mazda Of The Month contest and if any of you are members of that forum PLEASE come vote! The thread is located in the video and pic section.

Voters are limited to 100 previous posts and that have been a member for the past month. If you fit that then come hook a fellow RX7 owner up!!!

Any questions?"

trueimport "HAHAHA see BUT I'm not "campaigning" on that forum as stated!(naughty)"

kontakt "Yeah. I have a feeling this goes fairly strongly against the spirit of the rules and contest."

As stated...I really like your ride but it's simply not fair to your fellow contestants to be "fishing" for votes on the side.

WOW nothing like pick out all the parts that show how I’m not telling people to vote of me LIKE!!!!!!!!!!>>>>>>>> "plus in all honesty there are some well put together cars so please by all means if your going to vote, vote for what you like. If people don’t like my car I'm honestly fine with that." But then again I guess that doesn’t matter.

If you do not win this month...You're still welcome to try again...This time in accordance with the rules and spirit of the MOTM.

I would like to see your 7 on the main page someday. :)

Sounds to me like he was doing you a favor by bringing more attention to MOTM.....

lol...you guys made such a big deal about personal campaign threads and now you think he's doing us a favor?

Let's stay with one side here...The point of his thread is summarized in one sentence..."If you fit that then come hook a fellow RX7 owner up!!!"

rx7club member kontakt obviously read through the sugar coating and saw the thread for what it really was...a personal campaign thread.

As stated...This thread will stay on topic and if you have an issue, PM me.

So...now that everyone has got the sand outa their vag...

MMMMM Ford RS i love that front end
