I've thought about doing something similar, but I'm not sure it would look quite right. The front end just looks a little off...

My idea was an asymmetric double-stripe in the same general location as yours--a 3" line and a 1" line on the outside, separated by 1/2"
...and I just had the goofy idea of having it painted using the factory pearl-white...

Looks funny having a stripe on a hatch. I like that look better on coupes.

seems like a good idea but not sure how I feel about the execution. Something seems off about the stripe....too thin? too thick? can't really tell but something just seems off. Props for trying something different though.

The black doesn't match the black in the bumpers. It looks too glossy while the bumpers have a rough finish.

Also looks too cramped with the badge on the back.

Maybe you should put a stripe on the other side also and see how that looks. Also you need to put a piece of stripe down at the bottom of the front fascia, the part underneath the black mesh.

Thats a good point about it being to glossy..I bet it would have a much better look if it was flat Non-glossy black.

or maybe you could have done something like that geek squad van in the back. silver in the front black in the back. haha

Pictures can only go so far...How does it look in person? Do you like it? That is all that really matters.

did you consider doing one straight down the middle instead, or did you just want to do it that way, or maybe like someone else said, two equally spread out.

i dont dislike it and it is way better than most of the other stuff people have been doing (exception to truck nutz of course) but seriously-

Can someone please tell me is this an American thing?
is it some how related to muscle cars or something?

I dont understand the history/reason for this but have seen it before.
