Honda Accord coupe production shots

Exactly my thoughts. It is interesting how you can create a new look simply by borrowing shapes from an assortment of other vehicles.

Honda does that from time to time. Not like Hyundai.

I still like the Altima Coupe better. I'll have to wait to drive this Accord before I really make up my mind.

Looks pretty good to me. I like the front more than the rear. It'd be better without that chrome mouth. Nice rims though.

Is it just me or even most of the new Japanese cars are looking bloated and chunky...Makes me think of a revised tc or something Toyota would push out...

If you look at the lines of the rear-quarter without seeing the tail lights is it just me or does it have a shape reminiscent of a BMW?

R

It's called the Hofmeister kink. Mostly specific to Bavarian design.

From the front end does not look like it belongs on this car

Now that I think about it, when you look at the pic that 1sty posted of the front end, from that view it is reminiscent of the BMW 6 series as well.

Some random information about engines from a poster at vtec.net who test drove one:
"1. As we all know, improved VCM for all v6 models, improved because the engine can now switch from 6 cylinder to 4 cylinder to 3 cylinder, 3 different modes.
2. Two different 4 cylinder engines and two different v6 engines
4 cylinder model: 2.4 L, IVTEC 177 HP and a 190 HP engine
6 Cylinder model: 3.5 L SOHC IVTEC 268 HP one with and without VCM; later engine for coupes.
3. VSA, Active head restraint, 4 wheel disc brakes with EBD, Dual Chamber side airbags, TPMS, ACE Body Structure, ABS, DRL standard on all models.
4. No more DX or VP model, there are two different LX models, LX and LX-P, LX-P adds Driver side 8 way pw seats, 16" alloy wheels, Chrome exhaust finisher, security system, illuminated pw win switches.
5. Navigation is exactly like the Acura Rl, bluetooth is standard on Navigation Models, No more touch screen, nav screen placed higher up, a la 5 series with a toggle. 700 voice commands, really nice.. "

i somewhat like the car but i just can't bring my self to the idea of owning a honduh

I'll take that 90's Town Car anyday over the TCnda...At least the Town Car is what it is...and the styling has a lot more character when parked next to that glob of chunky plastic and awkward lines.

I think the Japanese are designing the models that have become popular in the states...to what they THINK Americans will like and not what is original and cool...Most of the domestic models popular in Japan are really classy sophisticated designs...Even the minivans are cool but WTF is going on with the chunk-fest hitting the States?

somethings off about that coupe. Not bad looking but something about the design is not cohesive. I see hyundai tiburon in the rear.

wow, ignoring the grille/hood collision in the original pics (sans body kit), it was at least somewhat clean

the pics with the kit... what a friggin mess! looks like an ebay fiberglass kit... and who thought the pyramid would be a good shape to replicate?
