What have you done to your MSP today?

haha, i wanna bet some money on this that it never gets done.

how many times have we heard this?

anyways, if you do...congrats...i'm just being realistic and pointing out that the end product is never gonna be seen....but, please...prove me wrong by all means.

might as well make it AWD and rear engined!

NO damnit, i want it done my way, i really have thougt this thru and discussed it it with my dad, who is really good with these things, i need to make an appointment with the Custom Fabricator Guy to get a price on the work

oh, and isn't the idea of Twin Turbo to have one turbo spool the other? as in one smaller than the other one?

why two Disco Potatoes?

dude, it is a serious project. Hopefully u have the funds and time to get it done. you;ll end up with one sick set up, that's for shure.

this is not for the average joe, that's all i'm saying.

reading this i've had some crazy ideas on how i would route the pipes for a dual turbo set up.

i wouldn't do 1 turbo for two cylinders tho...won't that actually decrease performance since only the flow of two cylinders are movng the turbo?

i think a set up like that would grteatly benefit from some kind of nitrous system as to spin both turbos off the hole...

another thing would be space, and believe me, we don't have much of that on the msp....unless you completely get rid of A/C and get a smaller radiator and fit it infront of the engine.

they will def be in the front, i have the picture of the whole setup in my head, all the tubing and everything, if i had any artistic skill what so ever i would draw it out, my fabricator is a pure magic man when it come to these things, i'm thinking the turbo's will be higher, i have to go take another look at my available space, it is so do able, i need to talk to my turbo expert in south africa too, he would for sure deliver some good advice and the go-ahead for the project

i don't see why you would have 1 turbo:2 cylinders. It seems to me that only 2 half-liter cylinders would have a real tough time spooling a turbo like that. Why not run them in succession like the old Z's or rx7's? I would think that it may be better with one small/one large...but 2 disco's could work i guess. One kick in on the low end up to ~10psi, then the other spools on up from there. And of course you'll need full standalone on a built block lol. While you're at it, you should carve out the side holes from the front lip and make it so the turbos are near there, with a short-cold-air intake taking air straight in from those holes up front. With some sort of water guard and a V-mount radiator/intercooler setup.

Fun project, keep us posted on the build.

you actualy make some sense

i would lose one disco and put a t25 or smaller turbo instead.

very doable

two disco potatos on a 4 cylinder? it can spool one fully at about 3500rpm. what makes you think it'll fully spool both of them on only 2 cylinders each?

the idea on an inline twin setup is to use one smaller turbo for low end and another larger for top end, the smaller also helps spool the larger if i am not mistaken. Only thing I don't like about this is traction, I have no traction in 1st as it is and I am down low on the scale, I just spool really quickly. so I can bang through first spinning and can catch in 2nd or keep spinning if I want to, but remember this is a FWD car, you are really gonna have a hard time keeping it planted once you get past say 300hp. You'll end up with a 14sec 1/4 trapping 110mph, slow time becasue it took you forever to get traction! Put big ole tires on 15X10s. but you'll most likely lose on the handling side of things. Don't forget to spend a little money on your tranny.

little money on tranny?

bah!

300 for each pair of forged gears, that's 5 gears...1500 dollars worth of gears, plus upgraded axels, slicks, clutch, flywheel

remember, i'm not set on a specific setup yet, i have to look at the good and bad, still need to talk to a few people about the right setup, i really appreciate everyones input, thanks for not shooting me for thinking up such a crazy idea lol, i will for sure keep everyone posted, in fact, i'll go start a new thread cause my ADD has caused me to totally thread jack LOL

BTW, i'm not building a dragster, just a very unique, functional setup, lookin at making big numbers yes, but she's still my daily show and go

yeah, but in the short time that I have known you.... I know your daily go will break our stock tranny pretty quickly

i concur, you're going to need wayyyy beyond a custom turbo setup. Cooling that will be a b****, new tranny, lsd, clutch, fly, axles, custom mounts, hangers, fuel pump, injectors/rail, and probably body braces/roll cage to control the torque better... there's A LOT.

ok, most of those things yes, but i reallydon't want a role cage, once again, it's not a dragster, i still have to fit people in the back

i have the option of only picking two: I pick

CHEAP FAST RELIABLE

no no, i mean you'll NEED some sort of body bracing because the amount of torque on the car is gonna want to twist it in half. not necessarily a roll cage.

uh, what?

oh duh yea, H-frame and ladder braces

and the quote was suppose to underline fast and reliable, the damn forum moved my underline, it might be a sign haha
