Cars look good. There is a Ford dealership in Denver, that always has wheels on cars and lifted trucks with bigger tires. They do really good with it.

Our Ford dealership here in town does the same type of things as that Denver dealership as far as lifting the trucks and wheels and tires.

Thanks for the feed back keep it coming.

Cars look real good. I would love to see a car like that fixed up at my local dealership. Was that your idea to work on the cars like that? Do you have a Mazda that is fixed up?

Lots of dealerships have been doing this for years. Actually, all the way back to the 50's and 60's. It's a pretty good concept, in that it can kind of kick start a potential buyer's motivation to get a car. If it comes with a couple of parts from the showroom floor, they can have a fancy modified car without having to worry about doing the work themselves or getting ripped off by some shady aftermarket shop.

The only downside in my eyes is that some dealerships tend to take advantage of a few simple modifications. One such story that comes to mind is back in 2003, when I was shopping around for a new car (I ended up picking up my MSP that week). I stopped by a certain Nissan dealer (that will remain nameless) to check out the '03 SE-R Spec V's. They had on their showroom floor, a "limited edition Nismo Spec V". I began to inquire about it, and discovered that it had a K&N air filter, Eibach springs, Magnaflow muffler, some Nismo badges, and some red pinstriping. The first salesman tried to convince me that this was a legit Nismo car that was shipped that way from the factory. When I questioned him about why a Nismo car had absolutely no Nismo parts, another fellow working there informed us that it was actually modified back in the service department. They were trying to justify an extra $2,500 tacked onto the sticker price by lying to their customers. Needless to say, I will never buy a car from there.

Sorry to kind of ramble like that. My basic point was that dealer modifications can both be great for business, and very poor for business...depending solely on how you walk that line between wise marketing and lying.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you guys was off the past couple of days. We have a lot of cars that we do this type of thing too for sale on our lot. I just put a couple to get some feed back from people.

It was my departments idea to fix up the RX-8. The car belongs to my department. We purchesed it from the dealership so the car is titled to my department. We have full say on what we do to the car.

That is one thing i am trying to stay away from my self. Some people would like to lable the cars we fix up "Limited Edition" when that is not the case it is just a regular Mazda with Mazda Speed parts on it. I will say that all the car that we do add parts to are all under factory warranty. As far as cost on items we show the customer what the part cost and what it cost to be installed. Wether they want to buy the car with it on it or just buy the same car with out the parts and buy the parts on their own that is completly up to them.

I stopped in last week to test drive a Mazdaspeed6 at Duval Mazda. Afterwards, I was taken into the showroom where that badass RX-8 resides. Let me tell ya, that car is a thing of beauty, inside and out. The owner told me they are going to install a turbo soon.

and that 3 looks clean.. how much are you guys charging xtra for the wheels, navigation, and other mods?

I'll have to stop by sometime, my Ms3 was on your lot when I bought from Mazdacity in O.P.

Wow, that RX8 is gorgeous. The 3 is cool but I am not a fan of the wheels...personal preference of course.
