2.0 conversion to 1.8 Coil Packs

no - the 1.6 has coil-over plug set-up like the 2.0 liter. (differnt engine anyway)

anyone know if a 99 protege 1.6L valve cover will work?

Mod done. Its actually really easy to do. i kept the stock valve cover and just messed with the wires a bit to get them to fit correctly. (knife) Mp3 cover is just a nice tie in. If i could have done it again though, i would have gotten the valve cover just to make it look better.

so you just cut the sides of two of the plug caps so it would fit on the stock valve cover, right? I guess it doesn't matter what it looks like as long as you have the engine cover...

I was going to do this swap but my MAM mani would be in the way. I think ill just go with the X4 igniter box, and some bosch coils, to along with the LT10.

Has anyone dont this with the MSP turbo setup? Im curious if this will get in the way of everything.

If it does maybe find a way to mount it to the back of the engine some how?

Finally got my hands on a 626 valve cover today but the gasket looks different than for the protege. The ring seals are bigger on the 626 gasket compared to the rings on the protege gasket. Has anyone noticed this? Guess im gonna have to order a 626 valve cover gasket? I already bought a protege gasket but it looks like i cant use it

as you can see the rings are different sizes and the gasket doesnt match up anyways. part # FSD7-10-235 has a slighty different description and its twice the cost as opposed to the one i bought from there. Guess i bought the wrong gasket to begin with, this is what my gasket description says "Mechanical Catalog - 2001 - Mazda - Protege
Engine, Cylinder head and valves, Valve cover gasket, Valve cover gasket, protege, 1.6l - 1.6l, 1.8l, 2.0l - 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L "
